I have 3 different Lizard's that I stop at for breakfast. This one is a favorite. My omelette with ham, cheese and tomatoes always comes out just right!

Have eaten here many times. Great food for this style restaurant and one of the least expensive. Can feed family of 4 for less $30. Food not fancy but good, fresh and wide selection, mostly common southern favorites like fried chicken, country fried steak, fried okra but not all is fried; try the squash casserole, butter beans, or okra and... I have eaten at this place many times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast service can be SLOW at times. The food is consistently well prepared. The vegetables taste like they may be from a can so don't go for a gourmet meal...but if you just want some down home meat and three food, this place is good. Sundays... More

My kids love the Thicket! They have great country cooking and is a great choice if you are looking for something other than fast food or your typical Chain restaurant. Personally, I love their hamburger steak, it is large and comes with grilled onions.

In my 40's I find myself wondering how much cholesterol is here and there..... But sometimes I just have to throw caution to the wind and eat some good old fashioned country cookin.... Endless options for sides, not all increase your risk for a heart attack....but the good ones certainly will. Love the food. A little slow when crowded as... More

This is the restaurant to go to if you want delicious, Southern-cooked food. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The servers are helpful and attentive. I highly recommend the pot roast with rice. The fried okra is very good and the carrot-raisin salad is fantastic. The desserts are great, too! Great food, pleasant and homelike surroundings, and reasonable prices. This... More

Went here for a birthday celebration for family ... seemed to be the only place our local relatives thought would satisfy the needs of everyone from age 5 through grandparents. Got to love a place that lists "jello" as a vegetable :) The food was heavy on fried and grease. The mac and cheese was pretty good, made homestyle. The... More

I wish I saw coming into the restaurant what I saw coming out. I would have turned around and left. As I was leaving, I needed to use the facilities. Stopped in and was overpowered by the smell of what had to be month old urine. A cook followed me in – orange cap, white coat, did his business in... More

Good food at a good price. Ample servings or get a small plate at any age. Family run for a long time. Never got a bad meal.
