Good barbecue, but not outstanding. Don't really have anything negative, but it just doesn't stand out in comparison to other barbecue restaurants.

This is the best restaurant in the area with creative, seasonal offerings and friendly service. Two standout favorites are the Fried-Green Tomato Burger and the Shrimp and Grits - both with a Southern / New Orleans flair.

I live in eastern nc and frequently encounter wannabe bbq restaurants. Especially out of the bbq zone of eastern nc. Southside has been a pleasant surprise. Excellent pulled pork. Check the bourbon collection :)

Traveler beware. This place charges a 22% gratuity for parties of 6. Horrible, unappetizing smells. Killed my appetite. Husband said the pork was very dry but tasty. Very pricey food. Servers were pleasant but tables dated. Save your $$

It clearly states on our menu that we charge gratuity for large parties and that's pretty common practice. Sorry you don't like the smell of smoked and grilled meats, boiling collards and frying shrimp!

Wonderful atmosphere and great food! Very nice selections including vegetables that are a step above usual bbq fair. Adequate portions left us no room to try their delicious dessert list. Noticed they do a brined and smoked turkey for pick-up. Definitely will be back!

We went out of our way on a road trip to make a stop here, but it probably wasn't worth it in retrospect. We expected a roadside restaurant with good food, but ended up with a huge wait and a $70 bill (for an appetizer,...More

Friday nights are typically very busy and we often have many reservations for large tables. These were the tables you saw "empty" that were being held for reservations. We are a small restaurant so unfortunately when this happens we do often end on a long...More

I'm very sorry that your server did not correct your issue at the time of your meal. Typically what we find when someone has an issue with the ribs is that they have just recently been taken off the smoker and have not had time...More

We got our food in no time and everything was delish! They give you plenty of food and the ribs just fall off the bone!

I always have the mussels and they do not disappoint. Lots of them and delicious broth to sop up with the included toasted bread. My husband orders the autumn salad with grilled chicken on top and he loves it.

Delicious and interesting food. I hesitated to go here for a couple of years but tried it last week Superb with friendly service. It needs to stand out with several top flight restaurants in the Landrum/Tryon area and it does.

Situated just slightly off the main street of downtown Landrum, Southside Smokehouse is more than the name suggests. Though great barbecue is a staple of our menu we also offer burgers, steaks, Cajun/Creole cuisine and now our new locally sourced, globally inspired menu from chef Sarah McClure. Featuring items like cripsy pork loin Milanese with cilantro rice, orange salsa, and smoked paprika crema and the "Figgy Pig," Landrum's new favorite sandwich with smoke pork loin, ham, arugula, fontina cheese and local figs on crusty French bread. We offer a full bar with many daily drink specials.
