Love this place. Good southern cooking served buffet style in restored rustic building. Excellent collards, green beans, sweet potato, rutabaga, pulled pork, fried chicken, bread and banana pudding, etc. Just about everything you would expect around grandma's table in the South. Well worth the ten minute trip off I-95.

Right on Santee State Park Rd., this place is easy to find. This is a store and restaurant housed in historic buildings. Enter through the store door, which is where you will purchase your food for take out or buffet eat in. This is good SC home cooking. In season, special events are held here, and you can reserve the... More

This is a Buffett style restaurant with a nice at home feel. Fried chicken, pork, vegetables and desert . The food was great and the staff was very friendly and eager to make their customers happy. Great place for families to eat and enjoy each other. Would have liked to see BBQ chicken on the Buffett.

Went there for Sunday buffet around noon. The place says BBQ but only BBQ was pulled pork on the buffet and that was not what I was expecting when when place has BBQ in its name. By no means am I saying food was bad because everything I tried off buffet was great except for the pulled pork it was... More

This was my first time visiting Lone Star and I enjoyed every bit of it. The buffet was full of fresh home cooked meats and veggies. I was excited for the tomato pie and it was so delicious I could have ate a whole plate full. The dessert buffet was filled with cakes, pies and pralines. I had a hard... More

We went for a late lunch during the week and were between the lunch and dinner buffet hours, which may have been the problem. The food was hot but didn't look very fresh or appetizing. Most of the selections were 1/2 filled trays and some of the food didn't look good from sitting there so long. The chicken was good... More

Finally got to try this place! We ate at the Sunday buffet today for my parents anniversary. It was good - with lots of choices. The chicken was good as well as the hash. I don't eat all hash because I am just picky about it, but this one was good. I loved the old feeling of the mercantile. It... More

We have eaten here the past several years after playing golf. I continually look forward to going back. Usually eat supper there on Friday or Saturday early evening. Always plenty of room with all the old buildings linked together. Often local talent playing / singing live music. I am not the most critical when judging cuisine and some may find... More

This was a rustic self serve buffet style restaurant. The Tomato Pie is excellent and worth the trip. Their fried chicken was moist and tasty and they had several vegetable dishes that were good. We were there on a Thursday which was Pot Luck, so I can't say how their barbecue would be on another evening. Check their schedule to... More

We entered at 1:30 p.m. for lunch after calling to make sure they had ribs. We found a buffet with lots of bbq usuals and filled up our plates. We quickly realized that the time to eat is probably around 12 as everything was a little dry and tasteless. Other restaurants in the area did not even have ribs so... More
