Deadwood is full of casinos but go upstairs here for some good food. Great steak, friendly staff, couldn't ask for much more.

Getting seated was a little slow but not too bad. The food more than makes up for it. Had the New York Strip with garlic butter and Parmesan along with mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly. I’ll be back next visit

Seriously, the 12 oz ribeye looked like 20 oz. It was seasoned perfectly and could be cut with a butter knife. The restaurant is dated but that is part of the charm in Deadwood. Highly recommend this steakhouse!

Eager to have prime rib we decided on Gem Steakhouse at Mineral Hotel. What an awful let down. Lousy service, decrepit decor, told 30 minutes after placing order there was no prime rib. Ordered a NY steak and it was mediocre at best. Al Warengen...More

Went for prime rib. After our order, and ordering and enjoying our bottle of wine, after40 miinutes our waitress informed they were out of prime rib. Restaurant is decorated like a third rated coffee shop. Service very poor. Don't go there.

I liked our waiter, and most of the food was good. Some of the steaks were a bit tough, but everything tasted good. I expected a little more atmosphere.

We didn't make one and got right in. But we were there on a Sunday night. I would probably try if you are going on a busier night. Some places in Deadwood don't take reservations though. So I am not sure.
