A very good filet mignon dinner for the price. They do it their way and it works. I've had better filets across the country but not in Hill City, SD. You must try the desserts and this place is suitable for families of all ages.

Different if you don't know what to expect. Very limited menu, either steak or vegetarian. Friendly staff at this family run business. Nice place to stop when in the area

The Alpine Inn is a historic spot in Hill City, South Dakota. They have a limited dinner menu consisting of either a 9 oz or 11 oz filet mignon (wrapped in bacon), wedge salad with homemade dressing and a baked potato OR a vegetarian meal. The smaller filet was approximately $10.00 with the larger one being about $13.00. Our steaks... More

The bar offered only beer or wine, no liquor. The meal was decent, though the 9 ounce fillets were quite different in shape. One additional entrée would be advisable. Perhaps a fish would be a good offering. The desserts were fabulous.

If I could leave a six star rating this place would deserve it. Burlesque blackberry wine is out of this world. Three choices for dinner large or small filet de mignon or a veggitarian meal. Dessert is a must have; all are spectacular. Service is outstanding!!! Cash only. You absolutely must eat here.

(Bring some home) save room for a desert!! Amazing choices. They are all so yummy!! You will be happy you... More

We enjoyed our lunch so much we went back for dinner a few days later. The lunch menu has a large variety of choices, from German dishes to salads to sandwiches. We both had salads that were wonderful. You receive wonderful bread with it. Every dish that went by us looked so good. Then the dessert menu comes!!!! They have... More

The food is always good, but the service today was not good. We could hear the servers talking about personal things behind a divider, while diners' drink were empty. The servers here are seldom pleasant. After waiting several minutes at the register to pay, no one acknowledged we were there, so we left pour money on the counter and left.... More

We had a delicious lunch here of German sausages and pork schnitzel! We had enough leftovers for lunch another day. And with friendly service, what more could we ask for? Nothing!
