The atmosphere & music were great! Service was fantastic! Valet parking was a plus! The meal...Average. I was hoping for a new favorite Italian Restaurant in Chattanooga, but this was not it. We got the bacon wrapped dates, the bruschetta, the grilled romaine salad, pepperoni pizza & the spaghetti but were disappointed in the taste of the entrees. Obviously many... More

We visited this restaurant just a few days after I moved into town! We enjoyed the ambience with the dark lighting and candles. The food was excellent; we got the calamari to start and the brown butter and sage raviolis and the braised short ribs for our entrees. Wonderful restaurant for a date night!

Visited Alleia early on Saturday evening. Restaurant decor was lovely and we were seated immediately (definitely make reservations). Our drink order was taken quickly. Our main meal seemed to come out 5 minutes after ordering - almost too quickly. I would have enjoyed a second glass of wine, however, our server paid almost no attention to us after the meal... Unbelievable! What a great place. Food was phenomenal. We had the braised veal and the short rib. We also had the sweet potatoe risotto and Pana cotta for desert. Service was great and view of kitchen was entertaining to watch. Great job guys, we are hooked!

The restaurant is very nice. Our dinners were mostly nice, and the service was first class. I would recommend visitors not getting tables in the back near the restrooms. The hand dryers in the restrooms are very noisy and sound like you're are sitting on the tarmac close to a departing jet. Changing those out for paper towels would be... More

Four of us had dinner here on Saturday and were blown away by the experience. The atmosphere, service and food were top notch. Reservations were tight, but Becky got us a table on the patio! The grilled romaine salad was a new experience and absolutely delicious. The balsamic pork shoulder was tender and full with of flavor. The butternut squash... More

My wife had a doctors appointment in the area and I wanted to take her somewhere we had never been. Somewhere special for an early Valentines day surprise. While she was in her appointment I spent some time online. She loves italian and this place had some great reviews and from the photos it looked to be the perfect spot.... More

Just wanted everyone to know how great this restaurant is and how appreciative we are with the special food allergies/dietary help they gave us last night. My beautiful Valentine really enjoyed the risotto that they cooked especially for her. The Panna Cotta dessert was also really delicious!

Alleia is one of my local favorites. I recommend it to anyone visiting Chattanooga who hasn't tried it. It's got a menu that I can only describe as Italian with a Southern flare.

Celebrating 15 year anniversary. We have been to amazing restaurants all over. This one is right up there. Server Cal was very experienced and knew the menu and wine. Food was amazing - husband had quail and I had short ribs. Portions were perfect. We could not finish all but it was not wasteful portions. Just were full :) We... More

Description
Thoughts of opening an additional concept in the southside of chattanooga stirred in 2004. chef lindley wanted to explore true rustic italian, but incorporate regional flavor. exceptional ingredients imported from italy and quality produce delivered from local farms make this vision a reality. situated in chattanooga's rejuvenated southside neighborhood, alleia resides in the old harrington building. the fulfillment of chef daniel lindley's dream of offering simple, italian inspired cuisine opened its doors in april 2009. chef lindley's latest venture is a unique interpretation of rustic italian cuisine, using local ingredients to create an evolving menu. alleia boasts seven types of house made pasta and a custom brick oven that reaches 750 degrees for pizza making. remarkably designed by rodney simmons of revival studio, alleia captures the warmth and comfort of a traditional trattoria, while breaking new ground in present-day restaurant design. trimmed in 300 year old wood taken from the harrington building, the space can seat 150, including a striking communal table that seats 32. the porch at alleia marries the best of al fresco and indoor dining. featuring a generous wraparound banquette, climbing jasmine and views of lookout mountain, the porch provides reprieve from the bustle of the southside. please enjoy.
