I’ve been to Tony’s about 5 times, once each time I’m in Chattanooga. I wish we had something like this and the art district in my hometown; we are sorely lacking in interesting finds. The food is always delicious, the amount comparable to how much you pay, and the staff is always professional and polite. This last time, they were a bit short handed because they were also working a wedding, but the impact was negligible. I stepped out of my comfort zone and ordered the shrimp scampi. As always at Tony’s, I was not disappointed. The only thing I would have to complain about is that there’s usually a wait time of at least 10 minutes, and the waiting area is standing room only. I do a lot more walking in Chattanooga than normal, and it would be nice to have a place to sit to rest my ankles. Overall, though, Tony’s is always a delight and quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the city.

We came here on a Sunday night around 5:30 and waited about 20 minutes, but this seems to be a very popular place, and the wait obviously backed up shortly after we were seated, so I'd recommend getting there pretty early! Our waiter brought out enormous pieces of bread with delicious garlic dipping oil (we ate way too much bread!). Hubby ordered the grilled salmon pasta, and I had the chicken tetrazzini. Both were very yummy and came out incredibly quickly! Our waiter was awesome and very attentive, and the location is very cute and an easy walk from the down town area. We walked from the Residence Inn and walked across the pedestrian bridge after dinner. All in all, a very nice experience!

Our family had our first dining experience here today. All of the food we ordered was absolutely delicious. We ordered several different dishes and none of them disappointed. They were all flavorful, served hot, and we felt the portion sizes were fair. We did, unfortunately, encounter a couple of employees who were not very friendly or welcoming. While I feel the food is fairly priced, I wouldn’t consider feeding your family here as inexpensive. And for the amount of money we spent friendliness would really change the experience. That being said, our food was so delicious we will definitely go back and try again.

Good things: Nice decor, clean bathrooms, good bread, nicely if slightly overcooked pasta, good flavor in the low country boil pasta, decent tiramisu Areas that need work: Spotty service - long waits between a server passing by, prosecco served at room temperature, freezing cold dining room, possibly the worst pizza one could find - it is nearly indistinguishable from a thick dry yet doughy frozen pizza, nearly completely tasteless olive oil served with what is a otherwise a very good garlic bread, turn carpaccio with a surprisingly small amount of seared tuna. Overall, very disappointing. We were looking forward to a nice Italian dinner,, but this hardly even rates as Italian. Olive Garden serves a closer proximity to real Italian food. Avoid the wait and the disappointment and go somewhere else.

Had our worst experience at any restaurant in a very long time. Server's named was Marrissa. She was rude and condescending. It was like she was doing us a favor by taking our order. Serving size for my dish was maybe a cup's worth of penne pasta and sauce. My wife's and daughter's dishes were tasteless. So we spent $75 dollars for four pasta dishes which were below par and had to put up with a rude server to boot. Disappointing doesnt some up our experience at Tony's but horrible does. We wont ever go back. I wish I could give them zero stars as a rating. One star is too generous.

I called 3 days beforehand and no, they don't allow reservations, so our wait was 45-55 minutes early on a Sunday evening. Many empty tables inside and outside, so I was disappointed when I asked to sit outside and was told no, for no apparent reason. Instead, we were taken upstairs with 2 small children to a small room with another large group already seated and left to scan our phones for the menu. It was a very loud environment with no ambiance, the waitress took our order, made no effort to discuss anything available on the menu, and seemed barely able to function in the chaos. Bread and oil for dipping is Tony's hallmark, and she dropped a stack of small plates/wrapped silverware with the bread and was gone. Our food, (pasta with salmon/chicken and eggplant parm, pizza) was all mediocre. Don't bother going here to be crowded in a small room with lots of outside empty tables. And as we were leaving, a family that had been outside waiting with us were STILL waiting when we left. We won't be back. On a positive note, we love the Bluff View Art District, it is lovely to walk around and enjoy the view.

This was our first time visiting Chattanooga and we pick out this restaurant based on reviews. It really was a great choice for us! Since we were traveling with our vegan future daughter-in-law, it was fantastic that they had so many options for her. Not only that but once our waiter knew she was vegan, he was very proactive about making sure everything she was serve was clean. When our bread, oil and cheese arrived we all dug right in. We were served two different kind of bread plus one dish of oil and cheese and one dish of just oil - for our resident vegan. Both types of bread were delicious and we had fun arguing with each other about our favorite. All pasta here is homemade without egg! Really great craftsmanship on the pasta. Some of the best we have ever had! Hubby and I each had the low country linguine with crawfish. Of course the pasta was perfect! The sauce had a nice black pepper taste and we loved the crawfish! The only disappointment and it was pretty big, were our son's meatballs. They were made with fennel in them and tasted more like a sausage meatloaf. He really couldn't eat them. We happened to have a decent bottle of red wine in the car with us and for a $10 corkage fee, they were happy to serve it to us!

Quaint environment with delicious food. It is tucked among other restaurants but worth the hunt. The bread is delish. Build your own pasta with house-made pasta is the best I've had in many years. Portions are abundant. Service was ok. Although we only had the pasta, everything coming out to be served appeared fresh and wonderful. An extensive gluten free menu was placed on the table at the time of seating. Definitely will be returning!

I don’t normally write poor reviews, but we came away from a pricey meal feeling ripped off. I’m sure there are a lot of challenges running a restaurant during Covid 19 protocol, however, producing lasagna in an Italian restaurant should not be one of them. My husband’s lasagna featured dried out ricotta and an off-tasting meat mixture topped with a hard layer of cheese. The rubbery calamari appetizer tasted of used oil. We sent back a soup that looked more like stewed tomatoes and leftover vegetables. My spinach fettuccini was very overcooked and served with so little sauce that when our waitress set it down she told me she had already put in for more sauce. The caesar salad and bread were good; we should have stopped there. I give our waitress credit for doing a great job in poor conditions.

We ate at Tony’s on Friday night on Feb. 21st, 2020. My pasta was very fresh and tasty. My daughter loved her chicken Marsala. The desserts were awesome. We waited about 20 min. to be seated and it was worth the wait. My wife liked her meatballs pasta. Go here and enjoy! There is a ten dollar fee if you bring in your own wine or dessert.

Recommended by our hotel, we walked over and the location is ideal right by the river. Cute patio outside and very friendly staff. We ordered an affordable bottle of wine and spaghetti, which came with bread and olive oil with herbs/cheese. Really great bread and meatballs! Definitely would return for atmosphere, service and food!

Unfortunately, service & food was horrific. I explained to our server that I am allergic to Pecorino cheese (it triggers migraines for me); they put Pecorino on EVERYTHING here; the oil with the complimentary bread, the salad, everything. So clearly, I was unable to dip my bread & ate it dry. The other four people at my table said the oil apparently is very good. However, nothing else was very good. I was unable to eat my salad, because, surprise, surprise, it arrived with pecorino shaved all over the top of it and our server was nowhere to be found. Our dishes included the pasta you can see photographed herein; create your own pasta; penne with the wild mushroom tomato sauce; we were unable to locate a single mushroom in an sickeningly sweet tomato sauce, chicken parmesan; chewy, and spaghettini carbonara; too cheesy & not very flavorful. At some point, our server dropped the check on the table & made a run for it. She never once asked how anything was going, and hoped for the best. She clearly wanted us to pay & go. We have a feeling she knew how well everything was NOT going. You can check my review history & see that I tend to give the benefit of the doubt & have given tons of 5 star reviews over the past 7 years at places in the U.S. and throughout Italy, but this place rates a one star review.

My husband and I checked in by giving a cell number. We were told that our wait time would be 35 to 40 minutes. We walked around a bit and then waited outside the restaurant a few more minutes. When my husband went in to check to see how much longer our wait would be they were CLOSING!! Apparently the maitre d left without letting anyone else know that there were still people on the list to be seated!! We were seated however we felt very rushed. The food was good and the service from our waitress was good but we were very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of the maitre d! (I thought that they might at least give us a complimentary dessert ! )

Popped in here for lunch when we found our planned destination was closed (even though everything online indicated they were open). Service was very good but we were between typical lunch and dinner times so it wasn't very busy anyway. My only gripe about the service was that they could've brought out the bread when they brought drinks. As it was the complimentary bread came just moments before the foccacia we ordered. If we'd been offered the complimentary we likely would've ordered something different as an app. The result was wasted bread and dip which we both hated to see. Food was good but not exceptional and I'd not go out of my way to eat here again. We shared the Foccacia which was tasty if a bit soggy and came with a tasty dipping sauce. Then each of us ordered the grilled vegetable salad. Again tasty but honestly only a very few of the veggies were grilled - most were cold and likely either steamed prior or pickled (asparagus being the former and red pepper strips being the later). The portion was enormous and heavy on the lettuce and olives. I'd have loved to see all the veggies truly grilled and a grilled romaine instead of the generic iceberg greens. The dish had potential but doesn't yet live up to it. Since we were so stuffed with bread and lettuce we didn't have room for dessert. Finally, it was a rather humid day and they had the AC at a lovely comfortable level. However, there was so much condensation forming on the AC vents that I got rained on the entire meal. This wasn't just the case at our table as I could see the service area and watched the vents constantly dripping a puddle of condensation. Good thing I had my raincoat along as it saved my purse and hat!

So many good options on the menu for drinks and food. We tried two pasta dishes and they were delicious! There is bread with oil and cheese also provided and it was tasty. So glad we stopped in, everything was fresh and light. As Italians we were very happy and would eat here again.
