My wife, myself and a couple of friends took a trip through the Dunlap area and thought this would be a good chance to eat at The Cookie Jar based on the good ratings. I ordered the chicken & dumplings, salad along with mac & cheese. My wife got a veggie plate with okra, mac & cheese, turnip greens and... More

Would love to go back someday! Was passing through and a friend told me about this place in the middle of nowhere. I checked the reviews out on TripAdvisor and liked what I read. Everything was extremely good. From homemade rolls, scratch made desserts, excellent sweet tea, mashed potatoes, chicken casserole.... everything is so good. Then, you add the atmosphere,... More

Well if you ever get a chance to go to The Cookie Jar in the middle of a cow pasture you will be happy you did! The desserts are wonderful and be sure to try their homemade ranch dressing. Their chicken and dumplings and many more daily specials are amazing too.

Good here is absolutely wonderful and the deserts are to die for ! Only problem is the service. :(. They employ a bunch of little high-school girls who'd rather gossip and flirt than wait on customers. If it weren't for that I would have given them a rating of 5. And it's this way every time I've ever been here.

We were there last night. The food was very good, I had baked chicken, husband had chicken livers with two veggies each. Good service, my husbands food could have been a litter hotter. We did not order dessert. But at the check out they had huge slices of cake that we could not turn down, so left with a to... More

Today before the awesomely delicious strawberry cake, we had catfish, and three very tasty sides. The food was well worth the drive for lunch.

They have no advertising, no directions from the hwy and are located in the middle of a working Dairy far from town. Yet anyone in the area can tell you where this place is and how to get there. There will be no signs telling you that you are there either. Just the large crowds. Be prepared to wait for... More

Located on a family farm, The Cookie Jar is a peaceful country restaurant with wonderful food and friendly people. You enter across the wide front porch and if the weather's nice you can enjoy your meal on the porch. We had lunch on a Saturday and did not have to wait long to be seated. The service was very good... More
