This is a great downtown place for lunch. Very good sandwiches and soups, comfortable and friendly. Don't miss it.

I have been several times since writing my previous review. Everytime the food has been top-notch and the service excellent- even when they are crazy busy. The soups, chili and tomato pie are excellent choices. My husband raves about the quiche. The salads are great, never skimping on the good stuff, cheese, nuts, fruit. Try the poppy seed salad dressing.... More
A few friend and I had lunch last weekend. Never a disappointment. Quiche and salad combos. Gotta get their house dressing/poppy seed! YUM! Everyone loved their meals. I would recommend to anyone! We'll definitely be going back.
My coworkers and I were running errands around town and one recommended we eat lunch here. There was a 10ish minute wait when we got there, but it wasn't terrible. I had the Cuban with potato salad. One friend had the cranberry chicken quiche with tomato basil soup and the other had chicken salad on a croissant with the same... More
I love the mustard seed. The atmosphere is decorated with antiques, perfect for a girls brunch. My favorite foods are the potato soup and Julie's Club sandwich. I highly recommend the flavored teas (blackberry is my favorite!) This place won't disappoint. My husband likes going here too (so not just for girls) ;)
I had brunch with a couple of friends who were visiting from Asheville for the weekend. We all have very different tastes and were all able to find exactly what we wanted on the menu. The soups and various salads are delicious!
Lunch time is busy. Great sandwiches, salads (especially the chicken salad), and desserts. My favorite is the Tomato Pie...cheesy with just the right amount of spices and freshly cooked tomatoes in a pie crust. Save room for dessert. The caramel cake is wonderful and portioned enough to satisfy the sugar cravings of two adults. Be prepared to wait as the... More
I've eaten here several times both solo and with friends/dates and the food is always fantastic. The portions are a bit small and by that I mean it's what a person should eat in a sitting and I've never had a meal that required a to-go box but I leave happy. They include a fresh home-made mini-muffin of whatever their... More
Lunch. I understand what they are trying to achieve with the decor, but it just doesn't work. A messy room layout and chintzy decorations set up with no rhyme or reason around the room. Some people may like the look, but I didn't. To me everything looked like it needed a good cleaning. Very ordinary sandwiches. The waitress kindly took... More
Visited for a late lunch on Saturday and everything was excellent. I got the signature ham, cheese, bacon, and caramel apple sandwich. Sounded like an interesting combo, and it was delicious. I got the broccoli cheese soup and potato salad for sides and both were very tasty. The service was also excellent.
