Went to the Conservatory for a cream tea but have to say the service was extremely slow. Sat for ages at a dirty table and eventually had to ask if we could be served. The staff were unorganised and could do with upping their communication skills - very sullen and laid back. Cups, plates, etc. being practically thrown down on... More

This is a very nice place to stop for a break on the way to Glendalough or on a drive through the Wicklow mountains. Very nice freshly made food, and the scones are delicious. There are also some nice bits and pices for sale in the shop.

A warm, friendly welcome and fantastic food to match. This is a rare find. Today was my second visit, and I am already planning my next drive through Sally Gap to get there. The soups are hearty, beautifully seasoned, and chock full of fresh vegetables and pulses, and served with a soft, moist savoury homemade scone. I relished every bite... More

After a hike in Glendalough we popped into this adorable little cafe for tea and a snack - its so homely and lovely inside, there was a beautiful dog dozing in the corner. The scone I had was lovely, my friends had the chicken and leek pie and said it was great. The waitress serving us was lovely. All together... More

If "The Conservatory" was in Dublin, Paris, London, NY or Rome you'd need a 2nd mortgage and/or the Lottery jackpot to dine here. Thankfully Lisa & her "Conservatory" are in Laragh, Co. Wicklow, a mere 2/3 minute drive from Glendalough. The atmosphere is laid back & totally relaxed in a beautifully airy conservatory attached to a magnificent old schoolhouse with... More

30km in to our cycle loop we stopped for coffee and cake but ended up having lunch as well. big bowl of home made veggie soup and slow roast beef sambo followed by coffee and both apple and rhubarb tarts with ice cream all while sitting in the sun. Second time this summer we have done this route and the... More

A stunning cafe. Beautiful garden and interior. A family run place, everything seems to be homemade and well taken care of. We had scones with raspberry and strawberry jam and clotted cream, all delicious. An amazing sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and one of the best hot chocolates I have ever tried. When we arrived most of the... More

After a long day of driving through the Wicklow Mountains this cafe was perfect. Delicious fresh food, enthusiastic staff, delightful atmosphere and charming decor. No complaints at all, we wished we could have stayed longer and sampled everything on the menu! Don't bother going anywhere else: here is where you will find genuine hospitality and hearty delicious food.

The Conservatory is a hidden gem - a real find whilst we were exploring the Military Road south of Dublin, and well worth a visit, especially if you happen to be visiting Glendalough (one of Irelands most popular tourist destinations). The staff at The Conservatory are wonderfully friendly and hospitable, and the cafe/restaurant is so very quaint and gorgeous that was deservedly voted in The Bridgestone 100 best restaurants in Ireland 2010. It is an absolutely delightful and charming addition to the existing B&B.
