Relaxed and friendly, not intimidating to strangers. A cosy urban pub with an Irish feel and sports tv. A worthy pit stop.

We only found the Cornerstone by chance, as it's a bit out of the way, but on a quiet Monday night it was the only place in town we found doing good beer and with some life. Later in the week we had a meal there, too, which was nice. The pub had three craft beers on, football on in... More

Great place to go for a friendly bar and good bar food. Always shows the rugby. Up a steep hill but worth the walk. Food is nice but fairly basic

We went here on the offchance looking for a simple meal and it fit the bill. We both had the daily special (beef bourgignone) and it was tasty and good value (£10 each). Plenty of mash to soak up the stew, filled us up nicely. Also had a glass of house red and it was fine. Would certainly go again.

Stayed for a week recently on the island and found this gem of a pub on our third day. It is not located on a main thoroughfare and we only found it by chance during our street walks. It may be only a fairly small pub but it does serve a good selection of well kept real ales served by... More

We visited this pub 10 years ago and probably better now. Owned by The White Rock Brewery, 3 of their beers on, plus ciders and other beers. If you are a Camra member you get a discount on pints. We ate here most night, lovely food good choice at a good price.

A small bar area at the front serving a good selection of ales. Friendly staff and efficient service. Restaurant at the back serving pub grub to the accompaniment of the pinging of the microwave - the food was a bit of a disappointment. I had sausage & mash; two decent sausages with a square of bland mash and a gloopy... More
