We were recently staying in Woolacombe and after a day out we were stuck in traffic so decided to stop and get a meal while the rush hour cleared. We came across the Braunton Inn and decided that this was the place. Being a Vintage Inn we knew we could rely on good food, freshly cooked. The staff were friendly... More

Having eaten at this establishment on a couple of occasions, I found it to be an OK restraunt, the classic look of the premises and the position on the estuary give rise to the fine dining atmosphere. Service was good, food acceptable, if slightly prices, but OK for a special occasion.

Visited for dinner on Monday night, for the first time. Service was slow despite very few customers. The food was also disappointing. The sea bass was very small and over cooked. The mixed grill was also poor. Not the usual standard we know from Vintage inns and would not be returning.

We visited on Sunday as it was nice day and we wanted to sit outside and admire the view over the Taw estuary. Unfortunately the Sunday roast was thoroughly unpleasant and we wished we hadn't bothered. We ordered the mixed meat platter for two (pork, turkey, beef) and whilst a novel presentation the main aspect had been cooked into oblivion.... More

Had lunch today with friends and ordered the fish and chips. When it came it was nicely presented although looked more like a child's portion. The chips were overdone and so was the fish, it was chewy. I would expect better for the money. It honestly was the smallest fillet of cod I have ever seen and the flat bed... More

I have visited the Braunton Inn in the past and have been bitterly disappointed. The selection of food for vegetarians was awful and the staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving anyone. However......mum suggested we try it again as it had been put under new management and well what an improvement! We went on a Friday... More

We have visited this pub a couple of times each year for the last 10 years or so, every time we get down to North Devon. It is a beautiful building in a stunning location, but often the food and service haven't done justice to the gorgeous setting. So pleased to say that the new landlord and landlady are really working... More

We went here for dinner and really enjoyed it. The building is beautiful and in the warmer weather has a really nice, big outside space. The food was quick and delicious. The pub is cosy inside with lots of places to sit tucked away.

In fairness we visited this restaurant in midweek in early March, but the restaurant was very quiet and lacked any atmosphere or warmth. That said our waitress was very friendly, efficient and helpful. There was 5 of us eating, each ordering something different. The views after varied from OK to Good but nothing special. The burger was by all accounts... More
