Stayed for one drink - not made to feel very welcome at all - one of those places you go into, everybody turns round, looks at you and silence ensues... better luck to the rest of you !!

This is the best sort of traditional pub. I stumbled across it on my last evening enjoying a short mid-winter break in the historical and interesting town of Brixham. Serving several good real ales, I plumbed for the 'Jail Ale', brewed by a brewery in Dartmooor, and it was superb, so,I had another. The pub is a friendly and welcoming... More

We come to Brixham every New Year for the past 5 years, and we absolutely love this place, we come with our dog Millie, we were made to feel welcome by everyone in the pub, there's a beautiful friendly Rotti owned by the landlord, Millie was fed treats all afternoon and evening. they have recently (recent for us as we... We had a drink in the Blue Anchor early evening, and it was okay. We then returned after we had been to a restaurant and it was awful. When we walked in, it was clear we weren't welcome, we were stared at by everyone in the bar and the locals wouldn't move to give you access to the bar. We... More

Oh no Christmas disaster Betty Stoggs removed for rocking Rudolph. Furthermore the till was broken so we had to have free ales all evening. Roast suckling pig on an open fire and the bar staff gave foot massages to oap's free of charge. Normal Thursday night at the blue.

Over all it's a lovely atmosphere. If like me you want to walk everywhere, it is extremely dog friendly. Which is a good bonus for dog owners. The only reason I did not give more stars was because some of the vegetables were cold and I could not eat them.

Stopped in here for a Sunday lunch. Friendly welcome. Truly generous portions with a large variety of well cooked veg and really tender local beef. Went down very well with a decent pint of Doom Bar.

We popped into this pub on the Friday afternoon and sat in the bar, nobody spoke to us- which was fine. We returned in the night and sat downstairs and we really enjoyed the evening. Good artist it was a nice evening. We returned on the Saturday eve as we had a lovely night previously, there was a weird one... More

Lovely old traditional pub. Lovely feel when you walk inside. Friendly staff. Even our dog had a warm welcome. Had lunch today, Friday and the food was presented well and was delicious. Toilets are cute and unique and clean. Have booked for Sunday lunch, and looking forward to going again . Wished this Fab pub was in Torquay, near us!!... More
