Visited this lovely pub for many times. Inside it is very authentic, outside one have a beautiful view on the dartmoor. The pub is located on a hill nothing else arround but sometimes many horses and sheeps. Wonderful. Our top place.

Fabulous location, traditional no frills pub serving great food and ale with welcoming and friendly staff. Steak and Stilton Pie was so tasty and packed with tender beef. Highly recommended.

We stopped here to have lunch and were surprised to see a sign on entering which said that children were required to sit in another room. Wrongly assuming this was a joke we proceeded to order food and drinks and went outside to sit on...More

Staff very friendly when we arrived at about 1600 asking for food. We had the whole place to ourselves. I ordered and ate with enthusiasm their own Cottage Pie. Just enough it satisfy my hunger. My partner ordered and finished a steak baguette. All was...More

The pub is on the side of a remote road across Dartmoor. It is very traditional inside; I doubt it has changed much in 50+ years. There is a fire that has burned continuously since the 1800s, and great food. The servings are enormous (this...More

A busy lunch rush meant our order was forgotten and we waited for over an hour... when we questioned the wait, the lady who had taken our order was incredibly apologetic. It happens! However, the meal was disappointing. We had a very dense tasteless quiche...More

We visited this inn last year and were completely captivated by it. The lady behind the bar was lovely and we came away feeling we'd found a little gem. Had I written a review then, it would have got a five. This year, having extolled...More

Visited Thursday lunchtime, although the premises was fairly busy, I was very disappointed with the food served. Had the chicken, leek and tarragon pie, which was overpriced at £13.50p. The vegetables served with this 'special' were actually disgusting. It is not difficult, especially in a...More

They are good for all meals. I think they server until 9pm. I've never had to book, but I don't usually go during things like school holidays or other times like that.
