Everything you’d expect from a pub on Dartmoor? Wrong. It’s a lot more. Midweek, early winter and they were fully booked, in the middle of the moor that should tell you all you need to know.

This pub is beautiful. The food here is great. We all enjoyed our choices: fish and chips, fish pie, fish cakes, trout salad. Friendly staff.

A proper English country pub, great beer, great pub food & great atmosphere. Log fire to warm you up after a morning on the moor. Home cooked hearty food, ham & egg, steak pie, what’s not to like.

Dear drbzie65, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Just to clarify the Mackerel starter that you refer to was in fact "smoked mackerel" as stated on the menu which to my knowledge does not have a season and as we are...More

Yes, we always have pies on and sometimes Cauli cheese. We have had to move with the times a bit but try to stay as traditional Dartmoor pub grub as possible using local produce. Kind regards Vicki
