We have been coming to the old mill tea room for over 12 years every summer. They always had large home made scones (three varieties) with clotted cream and loose leaf tea . All fresh and superb quality and not too expensive. Two years ago I went in August with six family members expecting the usual high standards. What we... More

Fabulous little tea room with a working water mill. We all had a Devon cream tea, rude not too really!! It was absolutely delicious, presented beautifully with nice pretty tea cups etc. Lovely staff who are very friendly and very welcoming. A regular stop off on route home to sample their excellent cream tea. Lovely big pot of tea with homemade scones & plenty of jam & cream. Friendly little place with great staff & even better if the weather is nice & you can sit in the courtyard next to the watermill

The Old Mill Tea Rooms is a must for those people strolling around the town of Dawlish. The service was good, the Mill wheel is being restored, and the history behind it is quite outstanding. Altogether a very good experience

We went to eat here a week or so ago on a Thursday lunch time. The sun was out so we took advantage of it and sat in the outdoor seating area next to the water mill wheel at the side of the tearooms. We'd gone to meet up with family who had been to this place a few times... More

Popped in for a quick cuppa and were pleasantly surprised. It was very olde worldy inside with a country house feel and very quirky. We had a latte which was lovely and the biggest toasted tea cake ever which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and we were served promptly and politely. There was plenty of choice on the menu... We highly recommend the Old Mill Tea Room the quality of the food and drink and the very high standards of cheerful helpful service made our visit. All at a very sensible price. The Mill wheel actually works. The tea rooms are on the right of the river looking towards the sea. The river is inhabited by some wonderful colourful... More

We visit Dawlish regularly and have enjoyed lunch here on several occasions but we will not eat here again. We wanted four bowls of soup. We heard 'do we have enough?' But nothing was said to us. The soup was served but very watery and tasteless. Not good practice.
