Visited on a weekday lunchtime. Ordered jacket potato, beans and cheese which I'd had here before and found to be very nice. Sadly this time didn't measure up. Food took quite a while to arrive, wasn't particularly tasty nor was it very hot (I wondered if the potatoes were cooked beforehand and then microwaved to heat up for the meal?).... More

I often eat breakfast at Franklins with friends. It's a lovely cafe/bar, great staff, good service and the choices of breakfasts are excellent. The eggs benedict is a firm favourite for me, but the Ozzy sandwich is delicious too!

Our food took a long time to arrive so I was confident that the reason was that it was been cooked fresh. Oh boy was I wrong! I ordered a fish finger sandwich. I NEVER expected to get in my bread (which was very nice). 3 bits of the lowest quality frozen fish fingers very little fish in them grey... More

Last weekend we hired out a table for 14 upstairs for a friends surprise baby shower. What a perfect venue! The staff were wonderful, giving us plenty of time to decorate / set up, the food was delicious (we have high tea - sandwiches & scones with cream and jam), the waitress also came and took our drinks orders for... Went in for breakfast as an alternative to a gym session, oops. I had a large cappuccino and a full English. I didn't eat the mushrooms or black pudding, this was my fault as I didn't ask for them to be taken off. But altogether a decent sized breakfast and a decent sized coffee at a reasonable price. Would eat... More

This is a great place to catch up with friends over lunch. I ordered the mini platter which tasted great and wasn't too filling. Would definitely go back.

Had a family gathering at Franklin's and have to say the food and service was great. They catered for gluten free and ensured the right people got the right food. All in all a great night. Thank you.

Visited on a sunday afternoon - had a Sunday afternoon taste for cocktails so thought of this place as it seemed ideal. Had always been on busier nights. Place was completely empty with no atmosphere sadly. We wanted cocktails - unfortunately most ingredients were not available. Barman friendly enough - went to the shop to get ingredients for the cocktail... More
