Lovely atmosphere, food was very good but I felt a bit stingy on the portion size for the price (e.g. my chips were in a small tin which had paper balled at the bottom that made it even smalller!). They also took too long to bring the food out (about an hour), which meant we hadn't much time left to... More

Popped in after an invigorating walk in blustery conditions. The pub was very inviting and we decided to stay for lunch. We had a veggie tart and local sausages and mash, both were very tasty. The size was good but felt like we could squeeze in a pudding. I had ordered the apple crumble brûlée, however the chef didn't want... More

What an excellent lunch. After arriving soaked and looking like drowned rats due to a bad weather walk, the friendliness and the warmth of the pub was a huge welcome. The food was absolutely superb, my parsnip soup was drizzled with mascarpone cheese and topped with chopped walnuts. The chef is excellent. My husband had game casserole which was amazing.... More

Felt I had to write a review on this establishment after dinning in here and actually only reading previous reviews whilst waiting for our food to arrive. We came across this Pub by accident after driving around Swanage and not wanting a long walk from a car park on a bitterly cold Saturday lunchtime in February to find somewhere to... More

Cosy atmosphere and friendly service. We had the table d'hôte menu. The food was well presented but the portions were too large and to many potatoes. Prices reasonable at £18 for a 2 course meal including a glass wine.

Very impressed with this pub,the roast dinner was superb, all ingredients sourced within a 15 mile radius. Beautiful setting too! The Castle looms majestically over this ancient building in the village square.

We reserved a table for 3 for Saturday lunch, as we had a friend from Norway for the week-end. Having been to the Greyhound before we knew it was a safe bet and so it proved. We were welcomed and shown to a nicely positioned table, I ordered wine for my wife and Kai and I had a local Bitter,... More

Arrived about 8pm on a Saturday evening. Warmly greeted by staff who were friendly and helpful. Lovely food and the chocolate Lava cake was heavenly.
