A very pleasant pub with friendly helpful staff helped to make for an enjoyable lunch. The food was very good apart from the chips which did not seem home made but more like oven chips. One of our party had a curry which was excellent and one had a lamb shank which was very good. The chicken with bacon and... More

Decided to eat here (have done so before) on an appallingly wet Monday lunchtime. We were first to arrive and the fire was not lit. I couldn't help exclaiming, 'What a shame, we came here for the open fire because the weather is so awful.' As soon as we had our drinks and menu the fire was being lit..even though... More

Fantastic haddock risotto and, for dessert, delicious white chocolate crème brulée, in lovely surroundings.

We arrived at about 18-15hrs without a table reservation on a Friday evening in November, and after being asked if we had a reservation were advised there were two non-reserved tables available, which I suppose is an indication of the popularity of this venue. The service was prompt without being too obtrusive and the food we would rate as above... More

Whilst staying in Wareham we chose to go here, based on very good reviews, rather than in Wareham itself. Getting there in the dark was never going to be easy, but having the road closed at both ends made it difficult. However we rang the pub, got helpful directions, and were not too late. We really enjoyed the meals, starting... More

On arrival we were able to pre-book our lunch for a 1pm sit down. After our walk we ordered our drinks and went to out reserved tables. Our food was on time at 1pm and was hot, tasty and very welcome. Some of us were tempted by the sweets on offer. As a walking group we will certainly come again.

Up until recently, I didn't even know this pub was where it is. It happens to be just 12 minutes from our doorstep. The reason we were there was because we were invited to a catch up lunch with friends of ours. They had never been here either, so was always going to be a stab in the dark. We... More

It's always a pleasure to visit the Cock and Bottle and this weekend was no exception: the usual warm welcome and good food. I tried the smoked haddock and thyme risotto this time around: tasty! Well worth the drive out from Bournemouth.
