While on holiday in the area, stumbled across this wonderful pub. Fabulous food, friendly and welcoming landlord, very clean, lovely gardens, what's not to like! Really liked the fact that for once we didn't have to put up with badly behaved kids(parents)!

My husband and I visited the lovely country pub after a nice long walk through Wareham Forest. It was ideally suited just off the forest, and lunch was excellent. The roaring fires gave it a warm and cosy atmosphere, good food and good wine gave us a well deserved break after our walk. The staff were very friendly, and definitely... More

Stopped for lunch at this Beautiful little Gem of a Inn on the edge of the Forest. Having read some of the Negative comments on TA. We were personally delighted to find a pub that caters for people that want some peace and quiet while relaxing over a drink and some lunch, we were made to feel very welcome, the... More

Was a bit dubious about going here for lunch after reading some of the reviews but was persuaded by someone who had been here before and recommended it. Can't rate it highly enough. We were welcomed warmly by friendly staff, the food was delicious and even though I am a Mum and. Grandma and love kids, sometimes it's just nice... More

Looks like a lovely village pub. But around the door are signs refusing children entry. It was a lovely evening so we had a drink outside in the garden area (where children must be accompanied and not play) only to take our cash elsewhere. As did two other families we saw in the car park.

We've driven past this pretty pub many times and finally had time to stop for lunch- didn't stay long, didn't eat and won't be stoping again. As soon as we walked in, the very rude landlord took one look at our group of three and stated "no children". There was no polite explanation or offer to use the garden. Licensing... More

Having never visited this pub before,we decided to book a table for four at lunchtime, hoping to impress our guests who can be picky about their food. We were given a very friendly welcome, and this friendliness was apparent throughout the whole experience. The menu is extensive, it was actually hard to decide from so many delicious dishes, so we... More

Excellent food a little more expensive than some, good value and range of food , note will allow well behaved dogs to sit under table. Well presented, close to some camp sites so customer say they are always busy so you might need to book.
