Dropped in here over the Easter weekend and couldn't fault the food, the staff, the service or the atmosphere. It has a food hygiene rating of 5 and the owners seemed to run a tight ship. Set back off the road, this pub has plenty of space outside with plenty of seating within a relaxing country environment. Well worth a... More

We have been several times, when holidaying down South, and always enjoy the cosy atmosphere and the staff are always very efficient and friendly. There's too many chain pubs, all looking the same in my opinion, so it is refreshing to find a family run pub with good food and a fine selection of Real Ales! Can't wait for the... More

We wandered in on Easter Sunday with no booking, but were seated quickly in the large Solarium after choosing drinks at the bar. Large place, with plenty of seating for both large groups and small. I had a special of the day seafood dinner with lovely fresh veggies; my husband had the standard chicken curry. Both of us were well... More

A very nice Sunday lunch with friends, very generous helpings of meat and a good selection of vegetables. Would definitely return again.

Very friendly staff. Good choice of restaurant areas, conservatory looked nice with large fish tank. Good choice of wines, enjoyed the pink prosecco. The specials board was great, really good fish dishes, large serving.

I had button mushrooms in a port and Stilton sauce to start. Practically inedible. Can't imagine it was made fresh, microwave jobby. For my main, a fish platter. Sounded lovely, scallops, cod, scampi tail. Nothing fresh, everything battered. Unable to distinguish any of the fish. Really disappointing considering the price, which wasn't particularly cheap. Wetherspoons do it much better and... More

On holiday, 6 in party, mid week and in no rush but good service. Friendly staff and good range of decent ales and food selection. Steaks were declared excellent by the teenage boys. Special board worth a look and the puddings also declared excellent by the family (not my sort of thing). Only downside was a wet day as sitting... More

As visitors to the area we read all the Trip advisor reviews for pub/restaurants close by but also then consulted locals. We were delighted with the welcome and warmth we were received with (plus our Labrador). The food was excellent and value for money as well as the portion sizes. We will come again for sure.

Went to the seven stars for cider and cheese festival with friends and got much more than expected, had a meal in the pub which was outstanding and you won't be disappointed with portions, Steve and Jill hosted an excellent event making everyone welcome, live music was also a great supplement to a great weekend, not off the beaten track...
