Now The Ginger Fox: We visited yesterday for lunch, we are not from the area but stopped on our way back from Poole, the exterior looked inviting and we were not disappointed once inside. A warm welcome and a cosy atmosphere with fires. The service was excellent and the mushroom Strogonoff and beef goulash were outstanding, follwed by orange/chocolate cake... More

We used to visit the Black Horse regularly with our parents and sometimes my brother and his family... When the owners decided to sell and the wonderful couple who ran it were forced to give it up.. The new people refurbished the interior and renamed it the Ginger Fox... We gave it a try. Staff were pleasant enough.. But as... More

I have visited the Ginger Fox a few times now, sometimes for food and sometimes just for a drink. The bar is good, the staff friendly and welcoming, the food excellent and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I could not fault it at all! my partner ordered something but explained that he was allergic to peppers. the lady serving us went out of her way to make... More

Have had lunch here twice in the last couple of weeks and very impressed with the food and the service. Look forward to giving it a try for dinner very soon. Looks nicely refurbished without being overdone.

I am local to this pub and so I know it well ,it was bad when it was The Bllack Horse but seems to have gone through some sort of reinvention to the ginger fox,. I called in lunch time with a Freind ,he had the curry and I had the beef burger . The food took ages to come... More

Formerly the Black Horse, my friend and I decided to have lunch at The Ginger Fox to see what it was like and were delighted that we did. Lovely food, pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. Will definitely return for dinner very soon to sample a more substantial meal from their inviting menu.

Formerly the Black Horse, but now the Ginger Fox. Stopped for sandwich lunch, to check it out, as it is our local, so good, staff were very accommodating and delicious sandwich on fresh bread. Nice to be offered different selection and obviously made to order. Will return to dine in the evening. Menu looks good and very reasonably priced. Landlord... More

Name has changed to the ginger fox!!! We stopped for a meal here whilst on our travels. The food was amazing, the waitress even recommend an alternative. Service was outstanding (even witnessed other outstanding service to others) nothing was too much trouble. I wish we had this pub at home (I'd be their best customer)
