We loved our visit to the Dreel tavern. Lovely friendly welcome and service to match. Found the menu to be compact but something for all tastes. Sirloin steak and sea bass mains were excellent. Lovely cosy atmosphere and a very well stocked bar. So glad...we finally made it here after driving past so many times!!More

Special place with country Pub atmosphere with open fires and low ceilings with twinkly lights. However the menu is WAY WAY too limited....very poor choice.....Linguinie....or....eh..... Linguinie.....or Veg Haggis!!!???....Whit? Loved the place but wont be back unless the menu improves. Steve Fraser

Definitely one of our favourite pub restaurants now. Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff throughout. Really good choice on the menu and this time I probably one of the best sirloin steaks I’ve had in a long time! Both had the Soufflé to start which was...fine, taste wise but outstanding for the value. Good wine and good value!.More

Went for dinner on a stormy Wednesday night! Made welcome from word go. Lovely staff, great atmosphere and amazing food. Had mackerel and onion Baha’ for starters. Delicious. Venison and sea bass for main, so tasty and flavoursome. All washed down with a bottle of...wine. Cannot fault a single thing. Will definitely be back!More

Popped in Saturday afternoon (29th October) for a drink and had a few more than planned. Great pub, friendly staff and very nice malbec. Well worth a visit. Larry, Edinburgh

We reserved the back garden seating for a party of 14 the day before…. It was an after-a-wedding-reception late night family reunion. Not only did they accommodate us last minute, an additional 8 people showed up. The drinks flowed freely and all the food was...promptly and deliciously served. From Cullen Skink, an amazingly rich smoked fish chowder- to steak and ale pie, scallops, appetizer plates, planked grilled fish and lucious desserts. The ambiance both indoors and out was really enjoyable. Highly recommend.More

We had a great meal with our family at the Dreel Tavern. Amazing seafood platter to start. Great Sunday roast dinners. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend a visit if in Anstruther.

Lovely cosy pub made excellent by its staff. Welcoming and friendly with a great menu. Dogs made as welcome as humans! On arrival you and your canine friends are made to feel very welcome. The staff are friendly, kind and professional, giving the feeling that...it’s a good place to work. Our dog was immediately catered for with a bowl of water and a little bowl of biscuits while we were choosing from the menu, which was not just your standard fare. The menu is ambitious with lots of vegetarian and gluten free options, which is what we needed. We had onion bhaji which along with their accompaniments were delicious. Staff and other customers didn’t mind when our dog got a bit fractious when new dogs came in.More

We ate here as a group of 6 on a Thursday night. Cozy, traditional pub with a welcoming open fire. Menu is anything but traditional, which I admire for trying to be a bit different, but the food wasn’t great & definitely needed some seasoning...to accompany the smart presentation. Wouldn’t rush back.More

We dined here with 4 friends whilst on holiday in the area. The seats weren't very comfortable for a 3 course meal. I had onion bhaji for starters, it was very large but not really crispy or tasty. I had crab linguine for mains and...this was extremely disappointing being very stodgy and using spaghetti rather than proper linguine. To be honest when I looked at other people's meals there was nothing I much liked the look of, my husband said his chicken was very dry and he felt it was served in a strange way. We both had ice creams for desserts which was the best part of the meal. Would I go again ? No, definitely not. The only plus was our dog being allowed to sit under the table but even she didn't look motivated to beg.More

Very busy, all tables full on a Thursday evening. Great atmosphere, very friendly welcome. Staff were excellent throughout. Menu is frankly is trying too hard. It reads like fine dining, but this is where the trouble is; the food is nice but no more. I...appreciate they are trying to make a point of difference, but some good pub dining dishes done well would be a great addition. We'd probably go back.More

Had dinner on the first Saturday of October, a first for us even though we live local! Busy little venue, the dining experience was superb. We ate of the menu but on our exit noticed the specials board! Dishes we were well presented, seasoned and...delivered with prompt friendly service! Looking forward to trying more from this family run venue! We’ll be back!!More

I’m 6’4 280 lbs, I don’t fit well. I had to duck in most of this building but tbd aesthetics, warmth and quality allowed me to sit and relax. We had some mixed drinks and a beautifully prepared charcuterie platter. It was a rainy day...and we enjoyed our time. That being said some of the decorations were knock off and not authentic The drinking helped convince us of a projected authenticity.More

Six of us came here for dinner, none of us had been before. Being vegetarian I was glad to see there were 3 options for me, and not the usual mac & cheese or risotto. I had a vegetarian haggis empanda with purred swede and...whisky sauce. My desert was choc and orange mousse with pistachio crumb and shortbread, I could have licked the plate , it was delicious 😋. We plan to return ourselves, as it was a really relaxed place, staff are young and so pleasant, friendly and helpful.More

Visited with my Mum for Saturday lunch - our second visit over a year or so and really enjoyed the food, ambience and the service was great too. Being unable to drink but loving the experience of a glass of wine, it is a very...rare occasion to be served high quality zero alcohol wine - may seem odd to others but what a treat for me! Specials of squash curry and sea bass respectively delicious. Only very minor inconvenience is that lack of accessible toilet facilities. Will definitely make The Dreel a regular when I visit.More
