Had 3 course evening meal. Couldn't fault it. The waiters were very helpful and attentative. Lots of choice and also 'roast of the day' . Lots of seafood, much of which didn't have supplements in addition to our all inclusive rate. Wine varies from £40 to £1000s for a bottle. Our basic £45 one was very good! Also had breakfast... Ate here a number of times during our new year break. Breakfasts are among the best in the world but sure that's covered elsewhere. Dinners are amazing and what stands out is 1. Venue - grand old dining room with high ceilings and scale but amazingly remains atmospheric due to low lighting and "snug" seating. 2. They do the classic... More

An excellent moment. The wine list is amazing with grands crus. The restaurant room is beautiful with its bow windows and decorated ceiling. The only thing a little noisy. But I do recommand

Well I never thought I'd be writing a review about Gleneagles. I treated my wife to drinks and a meal at the Strathearn restaurant within Gleneagles hotel for her 50th birthday, our first experience of Gleneagles was priceless. To see my wife's face when we pulled up at the main entrance and it clicked this is where we're eating was... More

Gleneagles has always been our choice, and recommendation, for a special occasion. We had our wedding party there, our parents celebrated their Golden Wedding there and we have eaten a number of times in the Strathearn when we wanted to make an evening special. That changed this Saturday evening. The hotel looked its usual outstanding self in its Christmas finery... More

The strathearn is a very classy restaurant in the Gleneagles hotel. We enjoyed our dinner but it did not match the £100+ a head price tag. Service wasn't up to the standards I expect from this great hotel. Lots of different staff attended the table but we had to try and catch the attention of them on several locations. The... More

Visited the Strathearn while staying at Gleneagles. We normally go to Andrew Fairlies, however, being a Sunday it was shut. The Strathearn was every bit as good; there was an extensive menu to cover every palate and the service was flawless. We shared a chateaubriand followed by crepe Suzette which were finished at the table. I don't think we have... More

Description
With two Rosettes to its name, The Strathearn serves classical French/Scottish dishes in an atmosphere that recalls the glamour of the hotel's art deco origins. From mountain lamb to game off the moor, aged beef to smoked salmon carved and flambéed at your table, each dish has been lovingly prepared by a dedicated team of award-winning chefs. The refined setting encourages you to dress for dinner but jackets and ties are not essential.A recent refurbishment has created a more intimate dining experience for The Strathearn, while losing none of the room's famous grandeur. The unrivalled Gleneagles breakfast now has its own dedicated setting in The Long Room with new hot and cold buffet counters, a feature juice bar and breakfast omelette station.
