Just come back from 3 days DB&B staying at the Lovat Hotel (will post separate review). Food was fantastic, there were plenty of choices on offer beautifully presented and not over complicated on the plate. 1st night - Ox cheek, succulent and just melted in the mouth. 2nd night Pigeon wrapped in parma ham and 3rd night I opted for... Sadly, I wasn't able to write this review earlier. I no longer remember the dishes which we ate only that our party of three enjoyed our meals very much. Our only quibble was that the dining room was too brightly lit for dinner. We were staying at a nearby B & B, within easy walking distance. We would happily return... More

We were kindly invited to a private function in a private dining room. The service was of a high standard with well trained and polite staff. The finger food and soup provided was of a high quality and very tasty.. the lounge bar had a huge selection of drinks and seamed to specialise in Gin and Malt whisky, the bar... More

We went into the Brasserie for an evening meal and we were allowed to take the family dog. the staff made and fuss of him and even brought him a bowl of water which was very well received. The service was very good and the staff very attentive and the food lived up to expectations very nice

These are tables close to the bar in a less formal setting. You can order 3 courses from £27 as part of their deal and there are special dishes on offer. This is great value. At the start, You are given home made bread with butter which is good. But the wow factor was the accompanying home made pesto. It... More

We just happened on to this place because it was close to our hotel. Excellent food and service, more upscale than other restaurants we saw in the area. Definitely a good choice for a great meal, although a little higher priced than other restaurants in the area.

Spend a wonderful evening with friends last week for an early 60th birthday for my husband. Amazing steaks, great cocktails and finally coffees with petit fours in the drawing room by the fire to end the evening - fantastic. Would stay in The Lovat without hesitation and might just go back next year if we're fortunate enough to visit the... More

Our fourth visit to Fort Augustus and our first to The Lovat. The staff were super-friendly and really knowledgable about the whisky and other spirits they have. The food was superb, I loved their haggis starter.
