We were travelling from Kendal to Falkirk and decided to take the country route for the second half as we wished to stop for lunch en-route to see our son and his family. We had passed through Biggar many times before but not ever stopped. So selecting The Barony was by observation and by chance as there are many options... More

First reviewed this place six months ago and returned today. Like before, the coffee was served hot with a generous serving of hot milk to go with it. My wife had an egg/mayo roll - freshly made to orderand oozing with tasty, creamy filling. Very pleasant young girl took our order, served the food, took payment and wished us well... More

Visited for lunch with a group of friends as part of a 60th Birthday celebration. We all had a very enjoyable meal from a varied but small menu. Everything was well cooked and presented by friendly and helpful staff. The wine chosen was very nice and not too expensive either. Overall a good experience

I have eaten at this restaurant several times. Menu has a reasonable choice; wine list is excellent. The quality of the food and service is always first rate. It's a good venue for a slightly more formal celebratory dinner or with business partners.

Booked The Barony for a meal with our visitors from Ireland. Firstly, we are glad that we booked as the restaurant was full when we got there. Quality food at reasonable prices. Nice feel to the restaurant help by excellent customer service. Menu was really good. Nothing too fancy but much, much better than pub grub. Certainly go back and... More

Our friendly welcome when we stepped in the door, the light and attractive setting with gracious tables and linen napkins in a random arrangement, and the distinctly original menu set the tone for a delightful lunch. We ate a range of unusual starters, then delicious fish pie in scallop shells for some of us and ling in batter for others.... More

My husband and I were on a trip to visit Rosslyn Chapel and our coach stopped for a couple of hours in Biggar just before lunch. Where to eat? The Barony looked welcoming and the menu posted outside looked interesting, so after wandering around Biggar for an hour (it's a delightful little town) we went back to the Barony and... More

My husband and I enjoy going to this restaurant which is situated on the High Street of Biggar every couple of months. Sometimes we go with friends or other family members and we also go as a couple if we want a special night out. The atmosphere and service are always first class. As I am a vegetarian I check... I regularly use this restaurant for business dinners. The food is of excellent quality and the service is very good. The surroundings/ décor are very smart and the restaurant is quiet and subdued enough for easy conversation.

Thank Chris J
