Nice old fashioned pub with good pub food. Lots of local residents enjoying a beer and food so always a good sign. A cheaper food alternative to the inn but a different menu. Both are enjotable

The pub was busy at the time of our visit but we managed to squeeze into a corner table and enjoyed a very pleasant meal. There is a good range of food available, including dishes suitable for children. A varied selection of beer and wine is also on offer.

Pleasant surroundings - well stocked bar and good food selection. .The menu was varied and there was a good children's menu - was quite a few children eating while we were there.

An ambitious Menu, that needs a few tweaks to technique to bring to excellent. The Steak pie is fantastic, and local sausages too. I had the Confit duck rillettes and then Ox cheek with Fondant Turnip. The meat could have had a bit more flavour/seasoning from the slow cooking, but the Fondant Turnip was a stroke of genius. In past... More

Visited for the first time recently using a it is voucher for a overnight stay with dinner and wine and breakfast. This is a traditional proper pub serving great food. Would definitely recommend it for a group of friends looking for dinner drinks and an overnight stay. The rooms are clean and ideal for short stays. The staff and surroundings... More

average experience... not many people in the pub... the owner was very nice, but feel that we were overcharged for the dinner and the wine was very overpriced and of poor quality

My wife and I were staying in Kippen with our little dog and we went to the cross keys for dinner and we both had the steak and ale pie and it was out of this world! Possibly one of the best pies I've ever eaten. Highly recommended!! Also great atmosphere in the pub with a cosy fire and our... More

The food here was fantastic and substantial. The staff were very friendly. Would have gone back there if time had permitted. We checked out of the place we were staying early, so did not have a chance to go back.
