Doesn't look too promising from the outside, but was actually quite nice. Very friendly service. Excellent fish pie and reasonably priced good and drink.

Did a lot of research for decent places to eat in Rothesay, for my mum in laws 83rd birthday. Gluten free options was my priority, then location and finally menu choice and prices. Only booked the table for 6 at 10:00 on the required day, so wasn't expecting the greatest of position or service. How wrong could I have been!!!!... More

Just stopped in for a pint after a walk around town. Lovely Guinness, free Wi-Fi and great views. Good spot.

Arrived without a booking - no problem. Waitress took our coats - very traditional! She had us sit down to order food and enjoy a pre-meal drink. Then we were invited to the table, she carried the drinks on a tray. Food was delicious. Could fault any of it. Made sure we tipped them on the way out. If you... More

8 of us ate in Gillies Bar and the food and service was excellent, everyone enjoyed their food but I must say the Haddock was superb.

A group of 10 of us decided to eat here recently. Our orders were taken in the adjacent upstairs lounge by a rather brusque waitress who called out 'Starters' then 'Mains' as she recorded our choices. We were soon showed to our table in the restaurant which was rather crowded that night. My starter was whitebait, a generous portion which... More

Pleasantly welcomed and seated in a waiting area to order drinks and select our meal requirements. once we had agreed we were escorted to the dining room. Nice light and airy and a great view over the Winter Gardens. Slightly more formal. Service was... More

Good quality food and friendly, helpful staff. We turned up at about 8:45pm on the day of the Bute Highland Games, but they were able to seat us by the window upstairs with a lovely view across the water
