Stunning surroundings at Mount Stuart with a beautiful restaurant run by an amazingly friendly and professional couple Jim & Karen, the food produced is a work of art- stunning , 5 star, I had the best birthday meal ever, and my cake is just wonderful. Thank you Jim, Karen and Campbell for making my day extra special.

Reasonable range of filled sandwiches + one soup and some cakes. Not obvious that there is seating indoors possibly would benefit from some signage.

Choosing Mount Stuart as the venue for our wonderful wedding weekend was the best decision we have made. Any concerns regarding planning, preparation and hosting at meal times were completely eleviated when we were introduced to Jim & Karen. Clearly very experienced and thriving in this environment, the entire food and drinks set up was just overwhelming. To simply thank... More

We were here in August, the middle of the school holidays, and having read the reviews we were looking forward to lunch here. The restaurant was closed, on a Monday, in the middle of the school holidays!!! We had the most uninspired and tasteless sandwich in the cafe, a drab school room type place. Thank goodness the house and grounds... More

Nice café type with inside and outside seating. Nice coffee and snacks after a walk around the house and gardens.

A brilliant, concise but innovative menu. Totally spoiled for choice and totally spoiled with great service. There is no where better to eat on the Island of Bute. I have been visiting here for 20 years and finally I have had an amazing lunch. We are going back for more lunch tomorrow.

The cafe was very small, self service and it was not obvious where the inside seating was. The staff were courteous enough, but there was only a very limited choice.

We took Sunday lunch at the visitor centre restaurant and it was way better than our expectations. Service was very friendly whilst being quick and efficient. The menu choice very good and the food excellent and beautifully presented. This was food akin to a high quality (& expensive!) city restaurant served by the visitor centre restaurant at one of Scotland's... More

We found this restaurant after being on the island for 6 days, and what a relief it was. It was impossible to find a decent restaurant in Rothesay which offered inspired, non-traditional, non-stodgy food. The menu and food here were both inspired and very very good,. The staff were helpful, the building, and table settings were stunning, and the location... More
