First visit to River Oaks and will go back soon. Best salmon I have ever had! Service was extremely good. Small dining French bistro but never rushed with our meal. Can't wait to go back!

Four of us went for my husbands birthday dinner. With cocktails, wine, appetizers and main entrée's this was not an inexpensive meal so we expected better service and a better meal. Our waitress was prompt but unfriendly and could have cared less about our meal. She never asked if everything was okay and we had to flag her down to... More

Halibut was good, nothing exotic. Seems a bit pricey frankly. It was good. I may try them again if I'm in this part of the country .

Nice atmosphere if a little crowded and noisy. Food can be very good to poor. The chef was "adamant" that their Brussels Sprouts were served mushy, like cafeteria style, or else. Our friends recommended this place on our return trip form the Belks Bowl. It was everything they said and more. The chef personally came our and met us and made sure our meal was perfect. The staff was very friendly. The food was so wonderful. We fill definitely be back.

This is a nice little place with a definite local fan base of the 55-plus crowd. The bar is tiny, and right in the space where one walks in, but on certain nights there are a few bartenders who offer a bit of hospitality and it has a little Parisian air about it. We want to like this place, but... More

We have dined there many times over the past few years. It is our favorite restaurant in Memphis, due to the high quality of the food and the service. It is operated by Master Chef Jose Gutierrez, who was previously head chef at Memphis' #1 high-end restaurant, Chez Phillipe at the Peabody. Jose is always there, always in charge, and... More

River Oaks is what you call a so call high-end quaint restaurant, however the service is poor and the food is mediocre.
