We went on a family trip to Memphis in May 2016 and we had an amazing time. Prior to going and saw The Little Tea Shop on the food networks Dinners, Drive In's and Dives and decided to look it when I was there, what I didn't release was that the show was actually ten years old!!! That being said,... More

Little Tea Shop only seems to be open on weekdays for a short period of time for lunch only. It’s worth trying to get in during that time. All the staff members were kind and helpful and there was a wonderful sense of “big family” there. We got the soup of the day which was a fabulous quinoa, chicken and... More

I came here to get takeout food today during a busy lunch rush. I was immediately handed a menu and told to pick out whatever I'd like and the young lady serving me would take care of it. I ordered a tuna sandwich with potato salad. The lady at the counter (Sue I believe) was very friendly and quick. My... More

This is a lovely diner. Must importantly: we LOVED the service. The owner's son works as a server. He is absolutely amazing and really made our visit so special as it was our anniversary. He made us feel like we were accepting hospitality in his personal home. Even letting us taste some options before ordering. What a very kind thing... More

This restaurant is only open for lunch Monday through Friday. It's very popular with locals. There are daily specials. The is a large selection of sides. The owner is very friendly. The wait staff is professional and quick. There is a parking garage on Front Street and Monroe if you can't find parking on the street. The fried chicken is... More

Place was quaint and food was decent but I wasn't overly impressed with the service. A lot of people recommended it so I guess I was expecting too much.

We absolutely loved everything about our lunch here! The food was fresh, delicious and authentic. Our server, who is also the manager (his name is escaping me!) was one of the friendliest and delightful servers we've ever had and I worked in the industry for 15 years! Do not miss this place, you will not be disappointed!!

Okay, it s Southern Foods with a twist of Middle Eastern and African spices. The okra is not delivered to you until it is perfect and delicious. The Hoppin' John has too much cumin and not enough rice...reminds me of a dish I ate in Africa. The Fried Chicken was yummy. The Eggplant was tasty. Great service, great value.

The Little Tea Shop was the power center of the Cotton World and the Legal World in Memphis at one time. It still carries that history with some patrons eating there every day or every week for decades. Blue plate menu requires your check-off on what you want. And of course you want the world famous cornbread sticks and turnip... More

We asked someone at a music foundation in downtown Memphis where to go for lunch, and she sent us here, asking us to say hi to the owner. When we asked the woman who greeted us if she was the owner, she said, "that depends..." and smiled. Suhair Lauck runs an old fashioned southern lunch place (though she's Palestinian), and... More
