Called in for Sunday lunch and the new management has kept up the standard. Very busy on a Sunday with about 3/4 tables booked. Very family friendly with plenty of room for prams etc and high chairs. The menu is very mixed with something for everyone, we had the roast dinner and it was plentiful and very tasty and reasonably... More

We called at Ruthin Craft Centre and stopped at Cafe R for lunch on our busy schedule around the AONB. Dad liked the look of Welsh Rarebit as soon as he saw it on the menu. I'm vegan (former vegetarian but developed a dairy allergy) and spotted some items that I knew could be veganised; so I asked the server... More

Visited with friends for the Cafe R Christmas lunch. Nicely set festive tables even though the serviettes had Denbighshire County Council printed on them! Not even in red!! A good choice of starters, main and dessert. These included Ham hock Terraine, Goats Cheese Tartlet . Mains of turkey etc and sea bass which I had and really enjoyed. One niggle.... More

Called into this little cafe and sampled some delicious cake baked on the premises. Can't beat freshly made sandwiches and home made cakes. I had a light meringue filled with fresh cream and strawberries, topped with a light coffee flavoured icing, absolutely delicious. Very cosy and clean, service with a smile. Had a few meals too if you felt a... More

Lovely visit to Cafe R today, we had not been before, but shall definitely be returning. When we arrived it was packed! Nearly all the tables were taken due to a coach party and other customers before us. We found a seat by the window and after looking at the menu and the specials we went up to order, we... More

My partner and I called in here for coffee and scones , both of which were excellent. We were able to sit on a comfortable sofa too and read current newspapers without feeling at all rushed. The scones were absolutely delicious and nice and big too! Excellent service. Absolutely lovely experience.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch here today. My wife and I both had roast pork which came with roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, cabbage, carrots and cauliflower cheese. All hot and tasty. Puddings also great. One meat and one veggie choice so if you need lots of choice it's probably not for you, but we really enjoyed it.

Enjoyed a perfect lunch in the sunny relaxing courtyard. Panini with the best ever smoked bacon and creamy Brie cheese served with a beautiful salad with a wonderful mix of ingredients. The portion was generous and the value very good. I realised that new people must be running this cafe as it has jumped from being good to almost perfect.... More
