We visited here with my parents on Wednesday evening. The bar was full of chattering locals and we were shown to our table in the restaurant. We had tried to book online but this was not successful; my husband rang and tried to book but no answer so left a message which wasn’t returned. This was the only downside- the booking process was not easy. Eventually we got through to the pub and were we told a table was available. I’m so glad we persevered as we received such a lovely welcome and the food was superb. I had the curry special- huge chunks of tender chicken in a rich sauce served with a Welsh favourite of ‘half n half’ plus poppadom and drink for £11. Really good value. My husband had a wonderful steak and my parents opted for gammon and scampi. All in all the meal was great. We will definitely return and hope to try their breakfasts which are rumoured to be just wonderful.

Hands down the best roast in wales. Creamy mash potato that will leave you craving more. I didn’t really want to leave a review because it’s hard enough getting a table as it is. It’s the jewel of the Nile if you can find it. Good friendly staff, relaxed farm house pub feel inside. Highly recommend but special occasions only and booking highly advisable or there will be rugby tackles and musical chairs. Make a visit if you can- you won’t be disappointed and you’ll make the place home at every visit. ❤️❤️❤️ Don’t go when pregnant- my pregnant sister craved their steak and cauliflower cheese and gained around four stone. She’s now been barred!!!! 🤣

From the friendly welcome when you arrive until you finally leave, this is a lovely evening, well spent. The food is well cooked and presented. A small menu, but still plenty of choice. We loved it so much that we returned the following evening - and the next!

Very accommodating, we hadnt reserved a table but when we rang, they managed to sort us out even though they were busy. Food was excellent, fresh and piping hot. It definitely was freshly cooked food. Service was brilliant and very friendly. We were looked after by Alex who served our food & drinks with a lovely smile. Definitely a place to visit.

What a find! Not familiar with the area we found this on TripAdvisor. A small traditional pub, with small local bar and restaurant and a welcoming landlord. The menu is small but that didn't put us off, having a good choice of traditional meals such as lasagne, fish, and burgers, and we all found something we liked. All the meals are cooked fresh and they were happy to alter the pizza toppings for my son. The chicken in BBQ sauce was delicious and came with home cooked chips and onion rings. Service was excellent, and the landlord and waiting staff very friendly and quick serving. Will definitely visit again if in the area

Luckily managed to reserve a table for Sunday lunch and had a superb meal- including good choice for vegetarian alternative which was far better than standard nut roast. Would definitely recommend.

Truly a hidden gem. Found between Lampeter and Aberaron. Warm, kindly service and local tips from the proprietor and exceptional gastro pub food. Would love to visit again.

After a longish absence we had Sunday lunch at the Vale of Aeron yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. We both had the beef dinner and custard slice with poached rhubarb and we cannot fault it. The mashed potatoes were the best ever, the carrots - delicious, and the cauliflower cheese was perfect. We've had a few Sunday lunches out recently and although we've had no complaints about the others, this was the best. Looking forward to trying the new restaurant in Aberaeron.

We’re a local family that go here often, brilliant food and basket meals, decently priced and a good service. Very helpful whilst trying to get my disabled grandmother in, and the charity quiz is always a good laugh. The Sunday lunch is absolutely amazing.
