Often meet up for 'girlie' lunches, the food is consistently good if not a little predictable, the gluten free choice is quite good too. The service can be a bit slow if they are very busy, which is usual, but I have not found it to...More

I enjoyed a quick quiet lunch. The food is alwYs excellent and always an excellent choice of dairy or gluten free foods. Homemade and fresh. Atmosphere lovely. Plus a shop to browse too. Hidden gem for cards and gifts slightly unusual.

We aren't new to the cafe and have been before, but don't think it was as good as when we have previously visited. The leek and Stilton macaroni was rich and creamy, but the crab bake was a bit runny - though had a good...More

Last time I felt the slowness of service let them down; this time it was spot on. The food, as always, was excellent. Steak and guiness pie and a goats cheese saled, both really nice. Really sorry they don't open in the evenings are there...More

I don't normally review a place if I've only ever eaten there just the once, but in this instance I have to make an exception. How is it possible to make a Cajun chicken salad so tasty?! Truly wonderful.

Thank you Leslie and Staff for providing an excellent meal for our large group on my retirement. As usual the food and service were excellent. We had the upstairs mostly to ourselves which suited our needs. No rush to get us out either. Thank you.

Good atmosphere and reasonable food and prices, although the opening times are limited and we felt a little rushed having to leave the restaurant by 5pm on a Saturday due to it closing.

The George's (Est 1989) is a Local Independent Restaurant and Shop serving freshly prepared food with locally sourced ingredients. The ambience is unique and relaxed and we serve food all day. There is a delightful walled garden to the rear with plenty of sheltered seating and stunning views over the Town, Castle and surrounding countryside.
