My friend and I recently went to Il Casale for dinner with our kids (4 between us). We arrived on time for our 6.30pm reservation and ordered about 15 minutes later. We had decided to share a garlic pizza between the 6 of us for an entree and we got a soft drink each.. All good so far but then... More

Enjoyed dinner here on a Saturday night with a group of friends. The place definitely won't win awards for its ultra-modern menu, serving basic variations of standard Italian favourites like pasta, gnocchi, lasagna, scalappina etc, Prices are quite reasonable, servings generous, and sauces are rich and cream. You certainly won't leave this place hungry, with the pizzas in particular being... More

A wonderful and easy night out for the family with young children. Don't understand what other reviewers are saying about the bad service, we find everyone really friendly. My parents are staying who are elderly and we got takeaway pizza last night. BEST pizza my mother has had she declared since Napoli. They were more than happy to alter ingredients... More

This place has the best pizza in Balmain by far. We regularly order pizza for pick up and last night we went to the restaurant. The pizza was excellent as always and the carbonara was delicious. We were served quickly and the staff were lovely. We will be back with friends.

Atrocious. WORST EXPERIENCE. I dont post things but I felt like I had to. Absolutely worst dining experience EVER. Not only were staff rude but it took well over an hour for mains to be served. The spaghetti was over cooked. The sauce tasted like it was from a jar. The pizza was burnt. I honestly have nothing good to... More

My wife enjoyed the Nobili pizza but I wandered from the worn track and had the gnocchi with four cheese. Also known as gnocchi with hardly any cheese. Staff weren't interested in asking if enjoyed our meal - just lame service.

We live locally in Balmain & like to support the rich array of restaurants in this area. Rarely do I complain but approach difficult busy nights with compassion & understanding . To put it bluntly , the woman who served us was rude & disrespectful . We waited for almost an hour for garlic bread, then a salad came which... More

Pasta and pizza that would make an Italian homesick ....cooking just like mummas. Love the pizzas, including gluten free. Staff welcoming and efficient. Can get rowdy, but hey that's Italy, right?

We live just down the road and visit this restaurant every couple of weeks - sometimes as a couple and often with out of town guests. It's cosy and authentic - run by lovely Italian people. The pizzas and pastas are delicious but my absolute favourite is he Mixed Seafood Grill (on the specials menu). Desserts are a must -... More
