For 8 or so years now 4 Pines has built a reputation on selling some of Australia's best beer. That's no mean feat in a country that arguably rates its beer as highly as its wine. And there can be no doubting that its beer is indeed worthy of the hype. The core range of Kolsch, Pale Ale, Amber et... More

Bit of a cross between a bar and restaurant, with accents of microbrewery. Nice vibe, friendly young waitstaff. Their own brews are very tasty, can recommend the Hefeweizen, (a sweet german/belgian wheat beer) We went early on a Monday night as the food is half price then. Our large meals and a drink each was only about $40

Great bar. We had the sampling plank which was delicious. Staff took the time to explain which beer was what and were genuinely interested and in making sure we were ok. Nice food as well. (Sweet potato fries). 👍🏼🇦🇺

We walked in here after a huge bush walk in the rain...needless to say, we deserved a drink! We got the tasting board as we didn't know what beer to get, and this seemed like the best way to try them all at an acceptable beer consumption for lunchtime. We ummed and ahhed over the menu, which all sounded great,... More

I was at 4 Pines with a group of work friends to farewell one of our colleagues. The evening was a success with this as a venue. There was a duo playing good music but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other talking. The boutique beers were a great drop although I can't remember a particular one to... More

A great day out while in Sydney is to take the Manly Ferry from Circular Quay. Walk across the Concourse and spend time walking along the beachfront, take a swim in Manly Beach, return to the harbour side and enjoy lunch at the Four Pines "Keller Door" Tapis Restaurant. Also sample the 4 Pines beers.

Great selection of craft beers, so there's lots to pick from and try. We ended up going for drinks several times whilst in Manly as well as for food one night which was also very nice.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
