NOT recommended. We went here a few times a few years ago and this place has gone way downhill since then. The food took ages to come out and was lukewarm, and prices are very high for what you get. The service is very average, compared to other places along this street where we should have gone instead. We will... More

I think Brick Lane has got it's work cut out because I'm sure when word spreads, every curry house from Bow Road to Bethnal Green will be shutting it's doors as punters flock to Bhaji on the Beach without even given the 17,000 km a shred of thought. Beautifully spiced lamb cutlets, a wonderful butter chicken, fabulous breads and a... More

I loved this place, the food was very tasty - from the starters to the mains and accompliments you will not be disappointed (and I love my curries!). Only slight letdown was the Nan bread wasn't as big as I like!! Not the cheapest either, but certainly the tastiest!

I love this place. The food is always great and you can taste every spice they use - the flavour profile is much more pronounced that other Indian restaurants in the area. The service is always warm and friendly and the wine list isn't too bad either. As a local, this is my go-to Indian restaurant in Newport.

Excellent Indian food. The mixed sizzling entree is great value and very tasty. We also shared the Coconut Prawn dish which was superb, a lamb Rhogan Josh and beef and chicken curries. All were excellent. Grog is reasonably priced. Food here is very reasonably priced for the quality.

Description
Indian cuisine encompasses a wide variety of regional and traditional cuisines native to India. Foreign invasions have played a major role in influencing Indian cuisine. The union territory of Pondicherry in the southern part of the Indian Peninsula was a French colony for around 200 years, making French cuisine a strong influence on the area. The techniques, ingredients and spices brought to this region when it was a French colonized have fused with the local approach to create an entirely unique Indian fusion cuisine. The resulting taste is different and, perhaps, a bit more subtle and refined. Inspired by the traditional cuisine of the French-Creole communities in Pondicherry.
We welcome you to ‘Jayara’s table’ where we serve Indian cuisine with a French influence.
