I have been here several times and it has never disappointed. The meal is not cheap but unlike other restaurants in red hill you actually get the quality you pay for. (Although I think sides should be included) The service was wonderful and yes you have to pay for bottled water but that's because they're on tank water. Overall a... More

We had lunch at Max's as part of our Bliss Package from MP Experiences. We had a wonderful time and a lovely meal. The staff at Max's were friendly, funny and we had great service. The view and scenery was beautiful and we couldn't fault our whole experience while at Max's.

An awesome setting with interesting menu but service was appalling and restrooms a disgrace! This is a tourist destination and for a high end restaurant I was ashamed in front of my Canadian visitors.

We visited with my sister and husband from Vancouver and my father-in-law. The service was attentive but not irritating and the food was fantastic. The only drawback was the air conditioning was too high (certainly for Canadians). We particularly appreciated Gary's descriptions and sense of humour. Taylah was also excellent.

We had the 3 course Max's wine pairing option. The dishes were well thought out and cooked to perfection and the wine complimented the meals perfectly. Service was fantastic, the only thing was that it was noisey, so may either an early or late lunch?? However, the noise drowned out went you started eating. If you love food as much... More

We visited this restaurant recently for lunch on a nice sunny day. The view from the restaurant was excellent. I was disappointed in the food. I had a Tuna entrée which was tiny and then Duck. I thought the Duck was undercooked but my friend said no that is the way they cook it. Staff were very good. I just... More

six of went for lunch not so hungry as we had a late breakfast. Half of had the special, which was blue eye fish with coconut sauce and salad. Really excellent. The other half had cod, which was good but not as good as the blue eye. This was washed down with a 2015 Red Hill Cool Climate 2015 Chardonnay,... More

We stopped in for an unplanned lunch over the labor day weekend. We had set out for the Epicurian, but it was a zoo with a long wait, so we headed up the hill to Red Hill for a wine tasting as we are members there. Max's restaurant was busy, but we were assured they would have a table in... More

Wonderful view that saves this place from being a big waste of money in my opinion. Some staff were not trained and lunch was rushed and very ordinary. I think we deserved more food for the price and to be blunt felt ripped off. Very fussy dishes that lacked any real wow factor. Bread offered was ordinary and set what... More

Went to dinner here with a group of 30 people for a Wine Society Dinner. All three courses were spectacular. Great presentation, interesting flavourful dishes. Dishes well matched to the wines from our cellar supplemented with a Red Hill Estate Sparkling and a Late harvest Pinot Gris with desert. Of particular note was the very professional and friendly service. We... More
