Well worth going a bit out of the way for this classic soda shop. I highly recommend the grilled peanut butter banana sandwich and the BLT, and of course for a treat try the Dreamsicle or any flavor shake!

I'm nearly 80 years old and have never forgotten chocolate malt milk shakes made the pure and old-fashioned way when I was a kid. Back then, these types of shops were called creameries. So when I took my first sip, it was nostalgia time. My...More

Happened upon this place while driving by and was happily surprised. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff that lets you know to seat yourself. They have stereotypical soda shop decor with booths and tables. The only negative of the place is...More

Share a milk shake with your love. Enjoy a cheeseburger too. It's a fun old diner. Great for lunches. Great for kids too.

Stopped in after seeing place on Tennessee Crossroads. Food was good, staff was polite, service was slow and our waitress never brought us silverware, napkins, or refills on tea. She seemed new at it. Disappointed we didn't try dessert or milkshake. Waited to long for...More

Ok, we all know about the milkshakes, but the burgers, onion rings, chicken and other food are worth the trip. So go back in time for quality food to visit the soda shop. Everything taste better with a shake make from scratch.

We live in Nashville so we get to eat here regularly and have done so for years. It is popular for its meat and three options and vegetable plates. I love the meatloaf, fried chicken, turkey and dressing and pot roast. For my sides I...More

I wondered if anyone knows whether the juke boxes work. The ones at the tables and/or the larger one in the back? Really interested in experiencing a true soda shop.

No, they are cool to look at, "still have the song cards from the 70's" but they don't work anymore

As the oldest continuously operating restaurant in its original location in Nashville, Elliston Place Soda Shop has been part of the lives of Nashvillians and visitors since 1939 - more than seven decades. We don't feel like we are running a museum but we do feel a strong sense of stewardship to the character of Elliston Place Soda Shop. We believe we can have a menu that both feeds your sense of nostalgia while still being relevant to current tastes. The Soda Shop is known for having great milkshakes and fountain treats but also serves one of the best cheeseburgers in Nashville. We also have amazing salads and soups and every day we feature "meat & three" selections... items such as fried chicken, meat loaf, turkey & dressing with all your favorite southern side dishes. Breakfast is served everyday starting at 7am.
