I had high hopes for this restaurant. It delivered on flavors. The food was great. But Maneet really needs to spend some time in her restaurant and whip it into shape. Other than the food, it is lacking. This is a classic case of, “while...the landlord’s away.” We made a reservation for two almost 60 days ago. When we arrived, we were seated in the bar at a high top wobbly table. That sucked. We would have preferred a booth in the restaurant, but went with the flow since they were busy. We mentioned the table wobble to our waiter and the response was “So fix it.” Maybe he was trying to be funny, but it came off as arrogant and offensive. It was not a great way to start our relationship. The waiter acted like he was drunk. He walked and talked like he had been drinking. He took our appetizer order, but forgot to take our drink order. (We looked at appetizers first since that was how the menu was presented.) We finally had to ask him if we could order drinks. We ordered a number of appetizers, almost tapas style. One was not available due to a tandoor being broken. Another strike against the experience. Our waiter was one of those guys that doesn’t write orders down (my biggest pet peeve!!!) and of course, food we didn’t order showed up and things we did order didn’t. Never once did our waiter ever ask if we wanted to order entrees. At one point we did. However we gave up based the crappy, inattentive service. Eventually we ended up just filling up on our appetizers and calling it a night. The food we had was fun and tasty. The potential is there for this to be a great restaurant. However, Maneet needs to stop making Food Network appearances and needs to take care of her business. The front of house needs to match the quality coming out of the back of the house.More

We were very enthusiastic about trying this restaurant and unfortunately, were terribly disappointed. The staff was rude, cleanliness level low and management was indifferent. We recently moved from NY to Nashville and dine out 2-3 times per week. Chauhan was difficult to get into but...the easiest to now take off the list.More

Finally made it to Chauhan's during a recent business trip. We sat at a high top in the bar. The vibe is very energetic and they have great cocktails. We split a couple of appetizers, with the poutine being a big hit. The mains were...also really good. The concept of pairing your protein with the curry of your choice is unique from my experience. We had chicken korma and lamb vindaloo. Both were incredible and just the right amount of spice on the vindaloo. Will definitely go back. Also don't miss the garlic parm naan.More

We are tourists! We have eaten Indian food for 25 years and decided on Chauhan based on reviews and an article on the owner. What a choice!! Parking a challenge but well worth it. Started with a Sauvignon Blanc and artichoke appetizer. Wine ok but...appetizer and garlic Parmesan naan over the top!! Lamb saag and tandoori chicken tikka Marsala were incredible - along with green chiles to adjust the heat!! Enjoyed a Cabernet with entrees. Longtime server was superb with food guidance and ballet moves to boot. Don’t miss this lovely restaurant, while in Nashville!!More

Wonderful meal. Everything was delicious. If I had to pick one thing to criticize, it would be dessert. There were two options and we tried both. They were good not great like everything else we tried. Will definitely be back.

Vegan options yes! It was packed when I arrived so I sat in the bar area at a table which was surprisingly nice. My server also the bartender was vegan friendly and helpful! Wow! I ordered the local farm veggies and Moilee curry sauce which...was amazing!!! The naan was fantastic. The smooth jazzy r&b music and the dimmed lights created a great atmosphere for dining. I’ll be back when I’m in town.More

This place was amazing! It is very cute and hip, decor wise. Hostess was lovely and even took the time to give us a lot of recommendations as to food and ordering. Our server, Noah B, was above and beyond wonderful. We had the poutine...and friend artichoke appetizer dishes - both amazing. For entree the 3 of us shared a dish sorta off menu - shrimp with a Goan sauce that was featured in the mussel appetizer, and garlic Parmesan naan. It was so flavorful and delicious! Great wine and cocktail list as well and reasonably priced. We all left very full and happy. Highly recommended. If only we were in town long enough to eat here again and hang with Noah!More

Our server Sujeet was so professional, helpful and so good at his job. We had two cocktails per his suggestion and they were both delicious. Our appetizers were phenomenal, and again, Sujeet’s suggestions. The naan is amazing ~ be sure to try the one with...the cheese and French onion dipping sauce. Wow! Our entree was Tikki Masala with rice and more naan. It was so flavorful but not spicy-hot. Wonderful ambiance. Parking is pricey but you probably already knew that. We will be back!More

Went out to celebrate my mom's birthday as Maneater Chauhan has been one of her favorite Food Network chefs for a long time. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxed and very inviting, and the staff were all welcoming and incredibly nice. Our waiter took...the time to explain the heat level and flavor profiles of the different curries as well as make a few recommendations for less adventurous eaters. The mix and match options for protein and curry mean a lot of customization is possible and both paneer and vegetable medlies are available in lieu of meats. Truly a great experience, even if you've never tried Indian cuisine before.More

Wonderful! My daughter and I took my sister and niece to Chauhan Ale House. We were meeting in Nashville for a girls weekend, my daughter and I were coming from Colorado, my sister from New York and my niece from North Carolina. They had never...eaten Indian food before and choosing this restaurant was a home run! The atmosphere, service and food were amazing!More

We had poutine with Tandoori chicken - Canadian dish with Indian chicken? I'd call that "fusion", and it was incredible!

Agree with everyone else. Casual wear seemed like it would be good. I went and had on good jeans and a button down shirt. There were people dressed up, but there were casual, like me, as well. I would not wear sweat... More
