My family and I were very impressed. The food is nothing fancy just good southern cooking. We started with soup and salad the tomato basil soup was good as was the in house made ranch. The entrees were a hamburger with fries which was tasty with a fresh bun. I got the special which was slow cooked pork. The pork... More

Great food and service with a bar. Inexpensive. Live music. The only thing I wish they'd offer if breakfast.

Gracie's is always a good stop for home-style cooking in a rustic little old cabin indoor setting or outside on the covered patio usually accompanied by a local band. The chicken fried steak is the specialty and it is maybe the best I've had.

We (the wife and I) went here on a whim a couple of weeks ago. It is a bit of a drive from Austin, but not too far as Texas mileage goes. I had the chicken-fried steak - it was excellent- nice and tender, nicely cooked, the batter was excellent and the accompaniments (Mashed potatoes, and green beaks) were also... More

My family and I stopped in for dinner. They were reasonably busy and it's a small place. There is outside seating but it was a bit too cold for that. It looked like they have more outdoor seating than indoor. Very rustic and cramped, but not uncomfortably so. The chicken fried steak is excellent. I had it with garlic mashed... More

We had the traditional chicken fried steak and burgers (bacon and cheese) and came away very happy. Wait staff was friendly and access very convenient. Our food was served on the :front porch" and it made the people watching very good. Bastrop is a neat town and very Texan. If in Bastrop this is worth a lunch.

Very nice quaint restaurant in Bastrop downtown area. They have inside and outside seating available. The chicken fried steak was excellent and very large! Would have given them a 5 but our frozen deep fried mushrooms were not completely cooked...and they were not that busy! Great service and the waitress was very attentive to our needs.

The food is like something your Grandmother would serve you. Southern comfort food and a good value.the specials each day are very good and usually around $10.00.

We travel a lot and love to hit up the individually owned, unique places. We found a gold mine. Their chicken fried steak was in deed award winning. Server was so sweet and pampering. The front porch dining and live music was a perfect touch. Felt like "mammaw's" touch was in the house.

Thank Christie G
