Came across this excellent pub by accident (courtesy of Tripadvisor actually) following a visit to the equally excellent Millets Farm Falconry Centre nearby. With expectations not very high, it being billed #1 of two pubs in a small village, we were delighted to discover such...More

A mere seven miles from the centre of Oxford, in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and restaurant. It is a stunning former chantry house dating back to the 15th century, boasting many original features. With soaring eaves in the Great Hall and Minstrel's Gallery, a roaring log fire in winter and pretty terrace bursting with flowers and aromatic herbs in summer, The White Hart is not only cosily beautiful but offers a warm, village welcome too. With a passion for provenance, the kitchen grows much of the restaurant's fruit and vegetables in a large kitchen garden and also sources food from the very best local suppliers. Even bread, pasta and ice cream is homemade fresh on site. Frequently changing, the menus rely purely on what is fresh and available, ensuring food which delivers on every level. No wonder they hold 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence!
