Old Sutphen's recently closed while merging the restaurant with the Lone Star. They just reopened and it was hard to find a place in the parking lot! Everyone in town was there. They have an interesting new concept; half of the restaurant is a serve-yourself buffet while the other half allows people to order off the menu. I think that... More

Okay we were in Borger for a football game saw the restaurant and wanted to try it. I guess if you don't mind waiting about 15 minutes to order then this is a place for you. Not busy at all and the wait staff is RUDE!!!

OH YUK! Disgusting food. How can you ruin a chicken thigh? cook it over a steel belt radial for a week. This is what it tastes like. Ribs seemed like they were boiled and then placed in sauce to absorb some flavor. I swear they microwave cooked the brisket, I have never seen a piece of me so destroyed. Totally... More

Suthpens was a long time bbq pit style Borger institution. Sadly, not any more. The ribs are never consistent in their flavor or quality. Service is poor, slow and unfriendly. Seriously the best ribs in this town are found at United grocery store. Yep.......

The service was bad our waitress forgot about us a few times the Cole slaw was drownded in mayo and there was no flavor in their food. It is way too expensive for the poor service and food you get.

We got the large sampler plate to go.Ask for a large ice water with it. We were charged $2.50 a piece for the water. Yip you got it folks $5.00 for WATER! Paid $16.99 for each meal and got ripped off for WATER. Have eaten here many time years ago but the food quality has definitely went down. Ribs were... More

This was a nice restaurant, just not for my tastes. The service was fantastic, almost toward too much attention. I like my food to be lightly cooked, crunchy vegetables and rare meat. We ordered a sampler platter and all of the meat was well done and the vegetables were fully cooked. For those who like their food prepared this way,... More

We had to stop in based on the reputation of this great little BBQ place and must say we were not disappointed. It is definitely not a fancy place and could use some TLC in the décor but the food was everything we expected. Since it was our first time here, I had the sampler platter and I can recommend... We grew up in Borger and there has never been a better BBQ place we have gone to. The family has owned and run this BBQ for over 60 years, maybe longer. It is worth a stop on your way through town. If you live there, you know how great it is.
