I was able to talk co-workers into joining me here for lunch. Was not disappointed. They are a little understaffed, but able to keep a reasonable pace for seating and serving. The staff that is there, is very polite and friendly. We ended up with 2 orders of the southwestern egg rolls, as they are delicious! Our meals came out... More

My friend brought me to Carthage for a late birthday lunch. We noticed the homemade bread on the counter when we entered. There were so many choices that looked and sounded delicious but I had to try the chicken salad between two slices of nut bread and potato soup. It was beyond good! We had a slice of buttermilk pie... More

We were driving from Missouri to Southern Texas and wanted to have lunch in a quiet small historic town off main roads and found this little gem on the main square by talking to the locals. Several we spoke to highly recommended it. This is a small friendly restaurant run by Mark and Jena Van Winkle. Jena mostly runs the... More

Good food, casual coffee house atmosphere, not a Typical Tea Room. Great place for lunch and the dinner menu has an interesting variety, as well. Save room for dessert, they always have beautiful cakes and pies.

This is a small little restaurant on the square in Carthage. It is easy to overlook. I highly recommend the place. It has a unique menu, friendly staff, and is a clean place.

I ordered sweet tea and the half chicken salad sandwich with cup of baked potato soup. The service was great; the server was friendly and efficient. The food was really good ... I highly recommend them for lunch.

We dine at the Texas Tea Room regularly and all of the food we have ever eaten was delicious and given in hearty portions. Reminds you of going to Sunday dinner at your grandmother's. The wait staff is very attentive and the owners are usually on site and know most people by name. One of my favorite restaurants in Carthage.

I had the pleasure of dining here both Friday & Saturday night recently. There are other good restaurants in the area but most of them are only open Monday-Friday; the Texas Tea Room is even open for Sunday lunch. Located on the Carthage square downtown; I really like the atmosphere. This is one of the few restaurants in the county... More

My husband and I walk down to this restaurant on the square during the warmer months. The owner is always polite! We don't even have to tell her our drink or appetizer order because she remembers it. I recommend the southern egg roll appetizer and beef medallions for dinner. My husband always gets a burger which I thought was an... More
