Based upon prior TripAdvisor reviews, we ventured into Veracruz early on a Saturday evening, before the bigger crowds showed up, and oh so glad we did. Veracruz received a 2014 Certificate of Excellence and, based upon our meal experience, deserves the same level of recognition again. Fresh warm corn chips (blue and regular) and two kinds of salsa (medium and... More

Veracruz Cafe specializes in food from the interior of Mexico which is very good, but also offers a limited selection of Tex-Mex food. My favorite dish without a doubt is their Chicken Mole, which is probably the best in Dallas. Veracruz Cafe is a relatively small place in a funky old building in the Bishop Arts District, so groups of... More

In an older, historic building in the Bishop Arts district, this restaurant serves some good food. Their "non traditional" chili relleno is amazing. Weekend brunch menu is also good.

Almost hate to write this review for fear that one of my favorite restaurants will be "found" and trampled to death, but Veracruz Cafe serves simply the best real Mexican food in Dallas in my opinion. However, Veracruz Café is not for everyone. First, it is tiny, so don't go expecting to find tables that will accommodate more than four... More

This restaurant has been around for 15 years or more and still has excellent food. It was one of the first to offer Mexican food beyond the typical Tex-Mex. We really enjoyed it when it opened and its first few years but had not been back for quite some time due to the fact that it is about a 45... More

I was impressed with the variety of the menu! The service was one of the best I have had in a long time. The ambiance was very cozy and very relaxed. The flavor of the food was exquisite and the presentation was great! I would recommend this restaurant if you are searching for real Mexican food and want to have... More

Eaten here twice and both times it was great. Good food, good service, great location. Only negative is they don't have sweet tea.

Bishop Arts District, always hip and cool! A great place for families, couples, or friends. We used a Groupon and it was our first time to eat at Veracruz Cafe. Great service, Miguel made sure our chips and water were filled. We had the mango margarita, the (Jarochitas) Mexican egg-roll appetizer and a meal called the El Borracho del Pueblo... More

My husband and I went to the Veracruz Cafe in Dallas for dinner using a groupon, and we were so impressed with the service and the quality of the food. From the moment we walked in the door, every person who greated us was friendly and helpful. The server's recommendations were terrific. The service was as quick as possible for... More

My son and I make a special outing to Bishop Arts District to have lunch at Veracruz. The food is influenced by the ancient Indian cultures. Our steak with chicken enchilada and fried plantains was a large portion, and delicious. The chips include my favorite blue corn and the salsa was excellent. Prices are fair and you are not rushed.... More
