Good place to visit at least once. Experience is very cool and outdoorsy. Great atmosphere, but BBQ just average.

There were plenty of options on how the tasty brisket is grilled/served. The sausages seemed to be their speciality and they were very tasty. Turkey was also good but the ribs could've been better. The staff was very nice and the place really looked/feeled like an authentic TX BBQ.

The Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood does not need my review to draw the crowds in. You will get great BBQ in a great setting with great service. If you time your visit right you will also have live music while you wait for your table. Next door is Salt Lick Cellars where you can grab some wine to go... More

I've been going here since it really was just a pit in the ground. As it has grown the quality has never dipped. In fact, it is even better because of the additions to the menu. An insider secret that isn't on the menu-as for the burnt ends or burnt tips. It is the very end couple of inches of... More

Came here after seeing all the great reviews everywhere on the web and the TV. It occupies it's own small ranch in the heart of Texas, with fabulous scenery as you're driving to the restaurant. On arrival, there is plenty of parking available no matter what size of car or coach you are driving. The queues can be a bit... More

I know I will catch flack for this but this is very generic BBQ which lacks personality. No depth of flavor. It is tough to beat the atmosphere here. My in laws love this place but I am a foodie, former chef, former BBQ restaurant cook. I like flavorful food. This is not it. GENERIC BBQ. The pit looks cool.... More

Approximately 8 years ago, I saw Master Chef Bobby Flay on TV recommending a restaurant near Austin as the place where the best BBq Ribs are served in the USA, at that time write down the data on my cell phone and there I am. Months later on a trip we made to San Antonio I remembered the recommendation and... More

BBQ and food was overall fantastic. BBQ sauce was a bit creamy for my taste, but a great place to go. If you're taking an out of towner for some TX BBQ, goto Salt Lick.

With the reviews we had read we rocked up expecting better than we had experienced in the previous 3 weeks of our trip. Unfortunately as good as it was it did not better a Memphis BBQ meal. The coleslaw was tasteless, the beans quite plain, the brisket a bit dry but the sausage and pork ribs were the redeeming cuts.... More

We've eaten here on and off for more than 12 years and if anything, I think the ribs may be even better now than before. Other meats were up to their high standard as well and even the sides are quite good. Save room if possible for the cobbler! As others have pointed out, this can be a very busy... More
