We went there in 2006 and the food was very delicious then. Now we ordered tea and asked lemons for it and they did not tell us there would be an extra charge. We also ordered the pecan pie, it is expensive and I have...More

We went there for the fist time and really had a great time. We'd never heard of a place where you bring your own adult beverages and everything is paid in cash. The BBQ beef brisket, pork ribs and sausage were all phenomenal. They serve...More

Love their meat! Turkey, chicken, sausage, brisket! Rib was so so though. Still, very good BBQ meal! Best I ever had! Walking pass the BBQ pit, smelling the smoke infused air just complete the whole Texas BBQ experience. Would definitely visit again!

BYOB.. and don't be shy.. I saw people bringing in coolers! Family style seems the way to go. We got sausage, brisket, and ribs, and it is all you can eat. You are allowed to take home what's left on the table at the end...More

Great REAL BBQ! Go to winery place next door and have beer, wine, drinks before BBQ. Or just meet friends there and hang out all day under the big trees.

Moved back to central Texas in the early 80's. Salt Lick was around before the majority of the "fashionable" BBQ joints cropped up. Great then, great now. All you can eat is the deal if you are up for it. But don't forget the warm...More

Large party. 9 guests, ordered all kinds of BBQ dishes. I had sausage and ribs, truly tasty. 25 mile ride, worth it. Take your own cooler of beer, booze and wine, cause they do not serve it. And, they do not mind you bringing your...More

BYOB, fresh squeezed lemonade, live music, secret recipe barbecue sauce and lots of meat: sausage, brisket, turkey and baby back ribs on Sunday. Plenty of parking, but they are ALWAYS busy, so be prepared to wait for that parking. They accept CASH ONLY at the...More

Yes, they allow dogs. But only on the outside patio and they must be on a leash. The outdoors is where they have the music so it's not all bad except in the Summer when it can reach 100° out there and 90° at night.
