Loved the way it was decorated, but the food left a lot to be desired. Service was good. My husband had the cheeseburger and it was average and disappointing. My sandwich was okay. The sweet potato fries were good. Left there feeling unimpressed.More

Visited 2017-12-09 at 12:45. Had burger with fries, waffle with ham, and two iced teas = $27.04 plus tip. Location is fun, and the interior is very diner relic. However the food isn't worth the drive. Texas Waffle was simple mix with no real taste....More

Description
The Airport Diner is a classic 1940s diner, located next door to the Hangar Hotel and immediately adjacent to the Gillespie County Airport aircraft parking ramp. From the booths, you can watch aircraft come and go while enjoying great sandwiches, breakfast, and daily Blue Plate Specials. The Diner is not just a place to grab some food, but rather a unique atmosphere to relax and enjoy a good meal while reliving the past. And you never know what you might see land just outside the window.
