Food is terrible! I ordered sausage roll for appetizer, not one piece of sausage. I ordered potato soup, not one potato. Don't order fish at a German restaurant. Fredericksburg needs more dining options!

Great open concept to the restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating and a great covered biergarten. They had the best deal we found on a large frozen sangria and their german beer selection was excellent. We went in twice for drinks, friendly service both...More
Auslander had a variety of draft beers, and a decent selection of German food. I tried schnitzel for the first time, and it pretty was good. My husband had the cabbage rolls, which were fantastic.
We're happy to hear that you and your husband enjoyed your visit with us, Amber! We hope to see you both back in again soon. :)
I normally go to Der Lindenbaum But I wanted spatzle and wife wanted those yummy dumplings. Lindenbaum does not offer ...so across the road we went to AusIander I ordered the cabbage soup and if I might say it was pretty tasty. Then it started...More
Nice looking --inside and outside dining areas. "Host" was anything but welcoming? Not a good first impression. Some waitresses were dressed in German outfits ;Others not. Menu was nice, ordered schnitzel..it was not thin..have had much better at an Italian restaurant back home! Potatoes were...More

We go to Fredericksburg 1-2 times a year and usually eat here. Good service, cold beer, very good hearty food. This is the only place where I can eat Sauer Kraut. The other sides are very good as well. Good value for the price.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback! :)
I would have given this place a 5 star but our service was horrendous! Our waiter was the most inattentive, wet blanket personality ever! He was awful. Although he paid a ton of attention to the young women sitting behind our party, yet we were...More
Hi Shauna - We're so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with the service but, are happy to hear that the food was to your liking. We do hope to see you back in again!
Nice German fare restaurant. The jagerschnitzel was tender, and delicious. The mushroom sauce was standard. Spatzel was good. I up this to a 4 because the beer battered mushrooms were outstanding. They are served with a ranch dressing (fairly benign). A horseradish sauce would have...More
Thanks so much for the positive feedback, Daniel! We'll definitely take your horseradish sauce recommendation into consideration for the mushrooms. :) We hope to see you back in again soon!
The on tap international beer list was pleasing. The deep-fried mushrooms were very good with a light batter. I enjoyed my German Roll Sampler, especially the schnitzel with red cabbage. The side salad was large, but the iceberg lettuce was "very" chilled. My wife's pecan-crusted...More
We're sorry to hear that not all of the food was to your liking, Tim. We appreciate your feedback and hope you'll give us a second chance in the future.
I have been to this restaurant quite a few times. I drive out of my way on the way to Houston just to stop in for lunch. Their potato skins are my absolute fav!!! Great food and great beer selection!
Thanks so much for the positive feedback, Jessie! We truly appreciate it and hope to see you back in again soon. :)
