Found this little gem on yelp.... stopped in for lunch on our way back to the airport... Best meal we had all week... sad they were out of the brisket but the flying pig tacos hit the spot... Got a little taste of tex mex !!!

Really nice place for a comfortable lunch with good artisan entertainment. We enjoyed the brisket sandwich and Tortilla soup. Both top notch. Numerous craft beers available. Short hours only open during lunch. Highly suggest Rio Grande Grill for an excellent lunch before heading to Jackson street for some shopping.

Rio Grande Grill is a small BBQ and Mexican restaurant in downtown Harlingen. It has a pleasant atmosphere, and is a good place to grab a quick lunch. I ordered the brisket plate. (The meats are sold by weight.) I was not impressed by the presentation (see photo), but the brisket was good. (Not exceptional or very good, but good,... More

My favorite item on the menu is Fish Taco's but everything is great here... it's down home grill... great place to meet friends and get a quick bite to eat.

If you live or visit Harlingen, you must visit Rio Grande Grill. We ordered the Pulled Pork and Smoked Sausage sandwiches. Both sandwiches had a generous portion of meat which was served on a toasted bun with something like a cilantro pesto and a tangy BBQ sauce plus homemade pickles. Both sauces were very tasty. RGG has a selection of... More

Impressed, good little secret for Harlingen. Finally, asked for extra spicy salsa n they delivered. Nice atmosphere, owners personally involved. Always good thing.

The owner took our order and was helpful with recommendations. He's young, friendly and enthusiastic. The fish tacos on corn tortilla were just right. As others have mentioned, this isn't a fancy place. It's a funky and friendly place with great food.

Brisket tacos are excellent! Great atmosphere - embraces the local flavor and the menu is just the right size. Whether you want seafood, Tex Mex, barbecue or a combination of all three, you can't go wrong.

leI hadn't been here for quite a while and I was not sure what to expect, I was first a bit shocked with the high prices relative to barbecue places in our part of the world. Then I became aware of my wife trying to come to some decision andI discovered that they were out of bread and buns at... More
