I made a reservation for a business group of 14 (turned out to be 11), and the Grove handled everything superbly. They called me in advance to verify the reservation, always a good idea! The ambiance is fine but not really that memorable. We were shown to our table immediately on arrival. Our waiter took the drink order almost immediately... More

Had a meal here while traveling alone for business. Had the short rib tacos. They were delicious. I'd order extra tortillas because they only serve you like three tiny ones. This is a very gourmet, high-end taco, my friends.

For us this dinner was up there with prior best ever meals at Uchi in Austin, Herbsaint in New Orleans, Gianmarco's in Birmingham/Homewood, and La Casa Sena in Santa Fe. Yes, it was THAT good! It is a beautiful space, both main dining area and bar, also gorgeous live oaks in green space outside floor-to-ceiling windows. When we reserved our... More

Walked in to get a beer. Sat down in the bar area and all the waiters disappeared. After about 10 minutes waiter shows and we ordered. Not a very good experience.

Stopped in here for a late lunch. Lots of nice tables on the window side overlooking the plaza and park outside and the restaurant has plenty of ambience. The waiter brought our ice teas, took our order and disappeared. At least 45 minutes went by during which time our waiter was nowhere to be found. The restaurant was almost empty... More

I was invited to an event related to business, the terrace was very lovely and the staff very attentive. The food and bar were exceptional. I am sure I had more fun than my peers at the big hotel dinner events going on at the same moment- this place is very quaint. I can see this being a romantic destination... More

The restaurant takes reservations for lunch so your expectation may be high. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the humid free days available in February and had no reservations. The food and service was average. Lunch for two with no frills is $45.

We had an ok time here. The atmosphere is great and ambiance fantastic. The food is good, but pretty overpriced. This was expected so not so bad.

The St Basil was amazing! The atmosphere is nice in downtown Houston. All the appetizers were great. Try the cheese tray, quesadillas, homemade guacamole and chips! The shrimp option was nice and refreshing. The banana pudding tiramisu was great! Great place for business of pleasure. Highly recommend!

My husband and I wanted to try out this restaurant during our short stay in Houston. With the little time we had, our only option was to go for dessert. We went around 9:00, about an hour before they closed. We were going to sit at the bar, but we didn't want to order drinks and it was incredibly noisy... More
